Excellent organic modeling kit for organic chemistry course. Many options to make multiple molecules. I previously purchased the smaller kit but needed more carbon atoms for what I am doing. Makes learning chemistry fun & intuitive. Seeing is understanding. Recommend to anyone wanting a modeling kit!

Works very well and had to use these a lot for organic chemistry. They are good for what they are and really good for the price!

4-holes for each O and N atom allow for electron lone pairs (from other sets) in VSEPR Theory
I bought two sets because the red oxygen (O) atoms have 4 tetrahedral holes which allow for 2 covalent bonds (e.g. in H2O) but also for 2 lone pairs (plastic orbitals from other sets) which explain shapes according to VSEPR Theory. Also for blue nitrogen (N) atoms in NH3. Each set contains six red O atoms, enough for one molecule of glucose (C6H12O6). Also contains six trigonal bipyramid black carbon (C) atoms which can be used for a space-filling model of benzene (C6H6) with proper 120 degree angles, or for three acetylene (C2H2) linear molecules with 180 degree bond angles. Also included are fourteen tetrahedral carbon atoms. Almost all other sets use only 2-holed oxygen atoms, which are smooth on the outside when bonded, but cannot show lone pairs of electrons. So this set is special, good as a starter by itself, or as a supplement to larger sets which include plastic orbitals for lone pairs or pi electron clouds.
