High action rod with a whole lot more to offer than a stiff piece of rebar!!
Personally I believe this rod far surpasses Berkeley Big Game and Ugly Stick!..Ahh they are ok but just never really cared for them or their performance. The Chop Stick,... now we are talking about a hell of catfish rod! Very well constructed, great power and balance. Plenty of flex and sensitivity with great hook setting backbone.I have not hooked into one worthy of what this rod is designed for but hope to very soon.I hope Catfish Sumo does very well and in the future will make a shorter version say round 6’ to 6’6” for the average set up for the more common 6 to 10 pond cats. That would be nice.If your looking for a great big cat rod?, that feels and handles like a Cadillac drives, this is the one!The way they ship their rod is fist class not 2nd.Wow! It was shipped in a cardboard tube which intern was shipped in a box. The rod itself was in a soft case in the tube.Absolutely professional. Some big boys out there don’t have the shipping pride Catfish Sumo has for dang sure.Give it a try I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Better off using it for panfish
I rarely ever leave a review of less than 5 stars. However, my 2 piece rod is now a 3 piece rod. My brother was using this rod while we were targeting blue cats. A nice fish took the bait and the rod snapped about a foot above the handle costing me a rod and more importantly, him a nice fish. Drag was set properly, using specified line, weight, etc. Also, reel seating is extremely loose. Had to fix it myself because my reel could go 360 degrees around the handle. Definitely would not recommend this rod.

reel seat is cheap, broke after one use.
My initial thoughts on this piece of junk were about how crappy the reel seat is. Then, I took it out and used it once and it broke.Trust me on this, save up a couple bucks and buy a whisker seeker or rippin lips rod. These are cheap and you can tell just by holding it.

Minor flaws but still works
Product came in a beat up box and the eyelid closest to the reel was bent I tried to bend it slowly back and it acted like it was going to break so I left it a lone. It doesn't hold reels tight as well but I just put plumbers tape on my baitcaster and it was tight. It has its flaws but it also worked great with a 15 pound catfish hoping it will hold together on some bigger cats. I wouldn't say it's worth the money unless they can fix a few of the easy problems.

Great product - Highly recommended
The packaging is great. They ship it in a hard tube that protects the rod. The rod itself is great quality. The colors stand out and I love the tip. I highly recommend this item.I ordered 6 of these rods if that tells you something..
