Still going strong
This has been a real hit for my son. He is 10 years old and has been driving this around on trails in the yard through puddles over ice over rocks for the last almost a year now. It has certainly been more durable than most of his other RC’s. The flimsiest part of it is the case or the cover I guess. Sometimes he takes us off and likes to just see the Barebone car driving. But it holds a nice charge and is not too happy to take on a trail and Carrie wants the battery runs out. A pretty goodbye if you have a car crazy kid.

•Edit•>>July/2018.... car-POOPED OUT
I haven’t had this car more than 1-2 years, it is now useless. The thing is, I’ve hardly played w/ it, haven’t had the time. Whatever the reason is, IMO, is ridiculous that the car doesn’t want to operate properly. After fully charging the 12.8v batt, inserting it into the vehicle, the Pistol grip remote is communicating w/ car, when you give it gas or turn the knob to see if wheels move, they just BARELY do, and u can hear clicking and shorting...... I mean, really?? I used ithe thing maybe 6 or 7 times, it wasn’t hit or banged up, nor did I lv the batt in car, there’s No interference. This is very old tech, look ELSEWHERE.I am dumbfounded at what an awesome purchase this was. Im 40, & I remember in the mid-late 80's a brand called Tamiya "i think",a Japanese co. sry if I misspelled it they made/make the stable of cars named after insects/bugs/amphibians etc. So a lot of kids in my 7th grade class got them for bdays/Christmas you name it. Now I didnt want for anything, thank God, was spoiled even. But those crazy top of the line Hornet, Grasshopper's and such, my parents just wouldn't budge on buying for me. So I always had kind of blah cheapie cars during childhood. Anyway enough of childhood & back into midlife!! . I wanted a quality car, w/ one of these pistol type gun/trigger remotes, wanted a large size, I was thinking at least 1:18, maybe 1:14, 1:12, but this is 1:10. When UPS delivered it the other day, the box was huge, i thought holy crap! But it was packed EXPERTLY, & definately not a pain to get everything out, like some stuff these days. This really defines: RTR.! I mean it! Super simple & dummy proof. I charged the battery fully, which only took about 20 minutes or so. The only on/off is on the bottom of the car, & it's a small red button you press until a red light begins to blink. The remote control, doesn't have a switch, although it takes 2doubleA's, which they give you! It says in the manual to then tap it against the car, to pair remote w/ car. However, this was already done, because, b4 I could even do that, my finger accidentally pulled the trigger & the car FLEW off my bed & luckily right on top of a laundry pile. What else is there? That's about it. The car itself, has such a great, clean, fun look. The tires are awesome, super heavy duty, there are 4 spring loaded shocks that work well. The car flies! It is fast. It'll take some time before I can master the movements due to the high speed, so it's up to parents whether or not they should get this for any kid under 10 imho. I'm not sure how much people before me paid, but geez, & I almost forgot that this set me back a whopping $19 bux!! Just get it!!

disaster
I ONLY have 1 starts because Amazon wont allow me to leave them as black/0.I bought my elder child a New Bright remote control car a few years back. My elder child thought his younger sibling would also enjoy one, so I purchased this one. The car fell apart literally within hours of being opened and being played with. Absolute garbage. Poor quality construction. We used duct tape to hold it together. No good, another portion fell apart/cracked. I suspect this particular car was a know off... or something drastically changed with the product.

its just ok
Works OK. I bought this on special for 20 bucks. For 20 bucks its a good buy for what it is and considering the quality. although at the price point of 80 bucks I'd have to say your better off looking elsewhere. My main gripe is that this RC truck doesn't have a differential gear at the rear axle which makes it difficult to turn. I know it just sounds like I'm nitpicking, but its one of those things you don't realize you need till its gone.

It's easy for him to control and has excellent speed
bought this for my 9 yr old. It's easy for him to control and has excellent speed. He had the huge 12.8V Gravedigger that had unreplaceable remotes so we got this to replace it. He now has two chargers and 4 batteries. Speed is awesome, right out of the box. We had fully charged batteries when it arrived and used one of those instead of the one it came with, allowing that to charge before using that one. It went on grass and gravel just fine. Son actually had it doing doughnuts with dust and dirt flying in the driveway. He fell in love with it right away. We now have ordered another for our 12 yr old and my husband even wants one for himself. This is definitely a huge hit.Edit: after having this for a few weeks, the wheels don't turn right and one of the wheels is loose and floppy. We were going to buy another to replace it but the price jumped more than 100% in a months time. When we purchased it, it was 30.98. Now they want 77.17 for same exact thing. Like I said, when he first got it, he fell in love with it and we are so very disappointed that not only can't we afford to replace it any longer but that it doesn't work right anymore as well.

Not bad for the money
Range is lower than expected. Looks like a 4WD car, but it's not. Front wheels tend to lift up in the air while driving, making turning difficult. Big and impressive gift for a kid for the money.

Terrible experience
I bought for my five years old son. I charged the battery for 12 hours and still, the car wouldn't run. Thanks for the awesome customer service of Amazon to rectify the issue quickly with a refund.
