JB Style Pickguard Jazz Electric Bass Guitar Pick Guard Replacement Blue Shell

Shopping for a cheapie replacement pickguard on the web can be an adventure in frustration; I have had more misses than hits for my P's & J's.My beautiful-black, MIM fretless Jazz came with a white 'guard & I never cared-for the stark contrast. I thought something in a 60's toilet-seat pearlescent (Usually 'black', read: 'gray') would tone it down & give it a little nicer look? Then, I found this blue one? -Worth a try.This one has been the closest, non-Fender-authorized fit I have found!It was just a smidge off: By taking a sheet of 3M 220 grit 'Pro Grade' sandpaper (The red stuff, the depot's got it...), folding it 3 times to give me an (approximately) 2" x 4" 'adjuster', I was able to quickly (and carefully) take off some material in the neck relief; on the lower-bout corner. This seated the 'guard perfectly over all-10 screw holes and the neck PU was free, for future adjustments! Then, a slight removal of material on the lower contact of the control plate, to seat it, and we're good!I'm really pleased with the look, the quality of the material & pattern, and the fit is (now) seamless...it took less time to 'adjust' it than it took for me to write this...call me generous on the Five Stars, but ten bucks and five minutes of fiddling; I'm happy!!
