Rescued By A Devil (The Deville Brothers Book 2)

Another enjoyable book by Wendy. The 2nd in the Deville Brother’s series.
RESCUED BY A DEVIL by Wendy VellaI have read a lot of the Regency books written by Wendy Vella and without exception I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one. I really like the characters she has created, the family’s and connections which allow her to include characters you may already familiar with. The stories she spins are entertaining and I really like her ability to add both humour (usually as banter and teasing between loving siblings and family members), together with a good story that isn’t necessarily obvious in the telling.‘Rescued By A Devil’ tells the story of Nathan Deville and Beth and is another book I enjoyed reading. There was some good and (to me ) unforeseen story twists and turns. I have no wish to spoil anyone’s reading enjoyment by giving away any of the storyline. Suffice to say that if you have enjoyed reading any of Wendy’s previous books, I see no reason why you would not enjoy this one.I do not know how Wendy manages to come up with such enjoyable books, but I am already looking forward to reading book 3, in the series featuring the Deville brothers!

Humour and romance
What I like about this series is the banter between the brothers and the way the Sinclair and Ravens pop up in the story now and again. I did like the main character, Nathan but there was something about Bethany that I just couldn’t take to. Maybe it was because she just left for three years without a word and also because she wasn’t her true self, when she first met Nathan. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved it
I really loved reading Nathan and Beth's story and catching up with Gabe and Dimity, the Devilles, Ravens, Sinclairs , Levermarchs, Strattons and Hetheringtons.Nathan Deville once loved and wished to marry Beth Carlow. Beth loved Nathan with all her heart, but it is a heart that she would break. One night three years ago she did just that she broke off her engagement and subsequently broke both their hearts with just a note and a very abrupt departure from London of her entire family.Three years later Beth and her mother are back in London and Beth is both scared and terrified of what she has to do, not only is she fighting to save her family, but all the people that she loves. Unbeknownst to everyone outside her immediate family her now bedridden father was a traitor to his king and country, in an act of pure defiance against the strictures of his domineering high ranking Naval officer of a father he stole state secrets and sold them to the Russians which ultimately resulted in her family’s abrupt departure from London three years ago. Now with the threat of death to her family and loved ones Beth must continue her father’s treasonous activities, activities that could see her and her father hang.Nathan vows to hate her, but the more he sees her the more he realises that something is very wrong he cannot seem to reconcile the Beth he knew then and the Beth he sees now. He knows something is very wrong and he senses that she is scared and terrified of something, but he has no idea what that is. Unbeknownst to him the spy who is stealing secret papers, documents and books from the powerful men around the King that he and his brother's have been scouring London for none other than Beth Carlow.Unlocking plans to cause disorder, riots and dissension among the populous of London's working class and poor. Who is the mastermind behind this is it the mysterious and loathsome Mr Logan who is blackmailing Beth and her family with exposure or are the planned riots just a distraction from another more deadly and sinister goal, one that will ultimately cause the upheavel of all they know dear. Is this mysterious mastermind ultimately plotting to assassinate the King and exposure the members of Alexius to all. Will Beth finally learn to overcome her fears and tell Nathan everything. Will Nathan be able to forgive her lack of faith in him and help her to overcome everything and save her and her family from certain death.

Excellent read
Another really enjoyable read from this author. She never disappoints and I’m always sad when I get to the end of her books. I love the banter between the brothers and catching up with some of the characters from her previous books. Really looking forward to the next in the series.

Excellent addition to the series
This is the second instalment in the Deville Brothers Series. Nathan and Beth were in love then suddenly Beth disappeared from society leaving Nathan devastated and bitter. Fast forward three years and she’s back in society. Beth is hiding a secret and eventually Nathan takes his head out of his ass and starts to ask himself why she left and what’s she not telling him. I enjoyed this book it’s a great addition to the series and well worth reading. When I started reading it was difficult to put down, I was at one point shouting at the book....just tell him!!!! He’ll help!!! All in all a really good book and another wonderful series. I received this book from the Author. I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
