Rustic Mantel Shelf, 60 in, Aged Oak

Ok everyone, I don't usually write reviews but I just had to let everyone know about this unbelievable Fireplace Mantle, it is just incredible!It comes packed in a really nice super heavy duty box and it comes with three screws to fasten it to your existing mantle or you can just screw a 2x4 to your wall and hang it that way too.Take a close look at our generic mantle that a lot of people have in their home, This mantle just fit perfectly over our mantle and I screwed it in place in about 2 minutes flat and I am not kidding.I stood back and looked at my install and I could not believe my eyes, I could not stop looking at this beautiful transformation the entire day, I could not believe I did this in 2 minutes!!I purchased the 9 inch and it is just incredible, we have never seen anything like this that you could buy so inexpensive and make such a major statement in your home!Dogberry is the best company out there so don't look any further.Even the screw holes are pre-drilled and counter sunk so that the screws provided fit flush with the mantle.We love this amazing Fireplace Mantle, thank you Dogberry for your beautiful workmanship and super sase of installation!

I was very nervous about making this purchase based off the mixed reviews I read, but I'm glad I made this purchase. This is a very nice mantle and WELL worth the price, so don't be concerned. The installation was extremely easy; you just screw in the support beam to your studs in your wall and then attach the mantle with 4 little screws. It's very sturdy and I have 3 components and some nick-nacks with no issue. I chose the aged oak color and when I first opened the box, I thought I had received a defective piece because the top and bottom are very well stained and nice, but the front of the mantle is made to look rough. Once I hug it up, I actually loved the rough looking front and it gives it a realistic rough cut wood look.

Installed this item as a floating shelf. The depth is great for some of our larger pieces, like lighted Christmas cottages. Finish is good, but seems slightly lighter than it appeared in the photos when I ordered. All wood construction with hollow interior. Easy to install, and sturdy.

I was very excited to add a new mantle to our family room. Overall the product is well built, solid, and easy to hang. It came well packaged with no damage or delays. UNFORTUNATELY, the color was much more “red/orange” then advertised. The rustic pattern was also very generic, repetitive, and uniform. Great concept but looked kinda “mass produced”. I had to spend a lot of time sanding it down to “soften” the pattern and get the correct color. My review would have been 10 stars if it came as pictured on amazon. Very disappointed.

Very nice looking mantle. However, the mantle had been dropped at the shop. I could see that the shipping box wS not damaged where the ma the had been dropped. I kept it because you could not see the damage from underneath. The color was as expected complemented our living room. I o ly give it 4 stars due to the damage (that's not seen). Everything else about the product is great.

I was a little hesitant buying a mantel off the internet just because you can't really tell how good the quality is and the color. I was very impressed with this mantel. I purchased the 72" one and it looks great. I mounted this on our brick fireplace with 5/16 lag shields. I have read a lot of opinions on drilling into the mortar joint or the brick. I don't know what is best for sure, but I mounted mine in the mortar joint it it worked very well. However I did use a 3/8 bit rather than the recommended 1/2 bit to drill the hole. I tried the 1/2 first but the shield was just too loose in my opinion. I used the 3/16 bit and just gradually made the hole bigger until the shield was nice and tight. The entire install took me about 3 hours and that was me taking my time. Now I have my flat screen TV and DVD player on it and it works great. I would highly recommend this mantel.

I am using this for a mantle over my fireplace. Our fireplace wall is reclaimed wood and this blends in nicely. The oak color is a little lighter than the picture which is actually perfect for me. The wood is great with no damage. I got the 10 in wide one (actually 9 in) by 72 and it is a great size. I am very pleased with this mantle. The only thing I would critique is the wood on the top and bottom is prettier than the side showing but I’m sure they all come out differently. Shipping was 3 weeks which I thought was fine and installation was easy. I checked out a lot of other mantels and I’m glad we purchased this one - I love it!

The media could not be loaded.  Love this mantle. I was a little worried when we first received it because it was so heavy and the instructions said the supplied screws were not for brick. So we purchased some Tapcon screws and a hammer drill to mount this. Love the way it turned out. Would highly recommend. I’ll probably look to add these as shelves in some other rooms now.
