Simpler is Better and Less is More in Children's Literature!
Bessica Lefter is a relatable middle school female in this book where she is going to the middle school without her best friend, Sylvie, and her grandmother has taken off on the road with her boyfriend, Wild Willy. Bessica is left in her hometown in Idaho with her family to face middle or Junior high school.Bessica is likable after all in this series. You can relate to her innocence and sometimes ignorance. She can do childish things because she is a child after all. In this book, the writer has done her homework and developed Bessica's voice and point of view. The book is an easy, entertaining, read for the most part. Readers especially young female reader will relate to Bessica most of all. This book is why children's literature is different from adult literature. A simpler book can connect to young readers better and the book is realistic overall. There are no outrageous stories or plots here about faraway worlds. The book is a great find for readers of all ages.

She couldn't put it down!
My nine year old just finished this book and LOVED IT!!! Grace is not much of a reader. She would usually rather be doing something else. So when I see her reading late into the night and carrying a book to the breakfast table and then slipping it into her backpack before school I take notice! I was curious about what was holding her interest so I read it myself. It was very well written, very "real", very in touch with young girls. I liked it too!
