Great tasting mild and not harsh on my stomach

I was excited to try this as a Carolina native. The smell is lovely and really knocks you in the face, but that made me question the integrity of the bag. O often order coffee online from craft roasteries and those bags arrive sealed tight with little to no smell until you crack open the bag. Taste is ok. It's not the best cup of coffee and far from the worst. I use a pour over setup, so I'd love the option for whole bean.

The package arrived with the air lock dislodged within the bag. The silicone wire arms to secure the bag after opening when rolling down were missing. The flavor and smell are unpleasant.

Like it's dark roasted counter part, this was ok to drink, but I didn't notice anything special about it.

I’ve always preferred a dark roast coffee, but enjoy all kinds of coffee, including medium roasts. This particular Arabica is exactly what I prefer. The coffee is a single-source one, which makes for a better brew. Brazilian Arabica beans are known to have a consistently good taste. The coffee is in a resealable Mylar bag, which is perfect for long-term storage and, when opened, ensures freshness.I tested it black and then added a bit of cream and sugar to taste as I usually do. There was no oiliness, bitterness, nor burnt taste to the brew. Now some people’s opinions may differ from mine if they have very discriminating taste buds. It’s an excellent roast and obviously some care was taken in selection of the beans and roasting process. I’m not a barista nor a professional coffee taster, but know what tastes great / good and what I want to take a pass on. Plain and simple, I know what I like and don’t like.This coffee does come ground and I’m not seeing whole bean from this company …. yet. My preference as to type of roast hasn’t changed and I’m very pleased with this coffee. On the back of the bag are notes about where the coffee is sourced, characteristics, and the fact that it’s a Top Pick By Food & Wine. Can’t get much better than that!

This is a good flavorful rich coffee. I am going to compare this to the French Roast coffee by this same brand as well as to my regular preferred favorite daily coffee… This coffee smells great on opening the bag. It is a good solid medium roast coffee, with plenty of flavor and strength meaning that it does not brew a weak cup of coffee, instead it is a nice rich tasty cup of coffee. Our favorite usual daily coffee is Peet’s coffee, usually their Major Dickinson’s Blend or French roast. I think this Carolina classic coffee is somewhat similar to Major Dickinson’s flavor profile. My wife says she appreciates vanilla and chocolate notes in this coffee. We also did try the French roast coffee by this same Iron Brew brand, and my wife and I both definitely prefer this Carolina classic roast, as the French roast was a bit plain in it’s flavor profile, it just didn’t have the same depth of flavor, it just seemed a bit flat, at least to the two of us, understanding that tastes definitely vary from person to person. We very much prefer this Carolina Classic coffee. This is a good coffee. I hope this information is helpful for you.
