Nail Savers. Seriously.
Buckle up, this is gonna be a long review, but I'm sick of the bad rep false nails get. These are truly nail savers. Yes. They save your nails. These are the best size fake nails I have found. They fit the nails I most want covered best - they don't have as extreme of an arc as nails which aren't labeled "active" and best of all, they aren't too short! Meaning I don't have to file my nail down before putting them on... If that statement is confusing to you I'll explain: I wear these to PROTECT my nails.I've been using Kiss brand nails for about a year now, and I find the quality to be excellent. That said - I have never really used any other brand. I don't wear fake nails constantly, and lately, I wear fewer and fewer. The reason being that I only wear these nails when one of my actual nails has broken, when one of them is damaged or weak (and I fear it may break), and during heavy work periods. I work in an office, and during busy seasons, there's a lot of paper handling, typing, and just reckless behavior which is not conducive to maintaining strong, beautiful nails. That said, I have not always had strong beautiful nails. In fact, I would not say my nails are strong at all. A year ago, I severed a tendon. I wasn't able to touch anything with my left hand for months. This resulted in my nails becoming super long and seemingly strong on my left hand. The nails on my right hand also grew longer, but my nails break pretty easily, especially when not polished. BUT - with these fake nails on top of them, THEY GROW LONG AND STRONG. Most people think that fake nails ruin your nails but that's just NOT true. Here's what you do:1...... Don't buff the bejesus off the top of your nail. In fact, don't buff it at all - any uneven surface may actually help when it comes to the glue adhering properly. I do push my cuticles up with either an orange wood stick, or one of those rubber cuticle pushers, usually after washing my hands to soften it a bit. No need to get cuticle crazy here.2...... Find the nail closest in arc-shape to the nail you are covering. Meaning, that when you put the false nail on top of your real nail, and you look at it from the front (not top), you don't see any large gap between your nail, and the false nail. That said - that may mean that these particular nails (Active Square) aren't the best shape for you. But trust me - the arc is the most important factor when it comes to false nails. In fact, I wish they were all medium to long length, because filing them down is so easy, there's really no need for "short" nail sizes.3...... File the false nail to your desired width. This means that sometimes, depending on your nails and which nail, you may end up using one that matches the width of your thumb nail, for your index finger. For example, my index finger nails are flatter and less arc'd than my ring finger nails.4...... Alcohol swabs are your best friends. Truly. I use them for EVERYTHING. But mostly: for cleaning the surface, sides AND underneath my real nails, AS WELL AS the underside of the false nail. **Be sure you do this AFTER filing the WIDTH of the nail down to the size you want (but NOT the length - I repeat, not the length).5...... Wait about one minute, and don't touch anything with the nail you just cleaned. Oil is everywhere, all the time. Your skin, your hair, even your clothes probably. You don't want anything to interfere with this short process. So just, wait literally 1 minute.6...... SUPERGLUE!! The bottle of glue I actually received with this - well, I couldn't get it open. It didn't matter to me because I don't use that glue for my nails anyway. Instead, I use Kiss' Nail glue that comes in the bottle that looks like nail polish. I not only find this glue as the easiest to apply, but I have NEVER had a nail come off. EVER. And I have left these on up to 2 weeks before (which I know you're not supposed to do but I actually forgot that I was wearing a fake nail).7...... Open another alcohol swab, leave it alone. Paint your real nail with the glue, then paint the fake nail, then press the two nails together WITH THE ALCOHOL SWAB. Now, I'm real thorough. I don't leave the chance of any unglued space when it comes to fake nails. So there's ALWAYS some glue that gets squeezed out. And if you're not ready with an alcohol swab when pressing the fake nail onto your real nail, then you're going to get stuck to yourself. So you need to have an alcohol swab ready. And you need to be ready to wipe that excess up. Press firmly down from the center of your nail, and squeeze til your fingertip hurts. You'll get over it and you'll be fine. It's worth it. You don't want ANY air gaps - because if water gets in there, it's game over and you'll probably get a fungus or something. I have not gotten a fungus, or any other weird nail disease thing - and I attribute that to my air-tightness (My hands are in water a lot - my showers are disgracefully long).8...... Okay that's it. Ta-da! You have a fake nail!REMOVAL: Buy one of those jar nail polish removers with the sponge thing. Dump out the liquid that's in there, go to a drugstore and buy their generic store brand acetone. Not Cutex. Nothing fancy sounding. Plain. Regular. Boring. Effective. Acetone. No frills. Just acetone. Then, fill the jar with that stuff. When it's time to remove your nail (by choice, OR because it's seal is no longer sealed, meaning water can get in it and yes you need to change it if that happens): just stick your nail in the jar, let it sit for about 30 seconds, and then just start wiggling your finger around. It'll be off in about 1 minute. If it's not, you're doing it wrong.I've attached a photo of my nails that I painted about 8 days ago. I'm TERRIBLE at painting my nails. And at this point I should've done them again, because they're looking rough around the edges - as clearly evidenced in said photo. But I'm adding it to show that fake nails, don't have to look fake - so long as you file the width down appropriately - and also, that they can help your other nails grow too! There's only one fake nail in the photo. I dare you to spot it (hint: it's the one with the perfect looking cuticle).Sidenotes: The reason my nails and nail polish lasts so long (and why they probably look like Chiclets in the photo) is because I paint the edges, and underneath. I do that with a base coat (OPI Natural Base), the coats of color, usually 2 but sometimes just 1 (I think I used Essie's Blanc here), AND the topcoats. And then every other day, I add more topcoat (OPI Speed Dry, Essie's Gel Topcoat [not an actual gel], and Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri in the RED bottle). I add topcoat until my nails start to look weird - which is about where they're at currently. BUT - they don't chip. And they don't break. They're rock solid. And they're amazing.By the way, I also refurbish furniture, handling wood and sandpaper often, do dishes and wash my hair, every day - and my nails are still awesome. I'm a Benny Benassi video in the making. Bye!UPDATE 9-17-2016:THESE NAILS ARE STILL GREAT. So great, that I now have to find an even LONGER nail alternative, because one of my natural nails broke, and the length of the rest of my nails are so long, that these BARELY match up to my real nails. I also REALLY WISH I could buy single sizes - it seems that I only use sizes 5 and 6. It's worth the price of buying a whole package just for those sizes, but I have a lot of excess false nails sitting around that will probably never be used. I did get resourceful and use some larger sizes (4 and 3) and filed down the sides, bent them into more of an arch, and they have actually matched up even better than the normal size 6, mostly because the 4s and 3s are longer. Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there. YAY LONG NAILS.

Quality
I love kiss nails. I’ve been using the real short kiss glue on nails for a couple of years now and I have them delivered to me at least a package every three weeks. They are sturdy, stay on is incredible and they make my hands look polished. These clear nails allow me to polish my nails with any polish of my choice so I thought I’d give them a try and I fully recommend them. You get a salon finish look at a very affordable price. Do yourself a favor and try a pack to see how much they can change the appearance of your hands. That’s the first thing people notice about you are your hands. Give them something to admire and the cost is under $5.00. These are one of my favorite products to purchase.

these nails are the answer to going for a professional manicure.
These are the perfect length for me. My complaint is that the nail glue that comes with them doesn't work very well and the glue that is provided is sometimes empty.

"Active"? More like, "I have a maid" length
I always wear my natural nails but I wanted to try something new and have a little fun. They're very feminine and flirty. I didn't file the natural length down, however, there's a little plastic piece on the tip of each nail which I gently buffed away. I didn't rush to put on the nails straight out of the pack. I laid everything out, chose my nail sizes, removed old polish from my nails, filed, buffed and soaked my nails in a warm milk bath. Then I applied a nourishing nail oil and let that penetrate for a few minutes. I thoroughly washed my hands and wiped each nail with nail polish remover to make sure all oil was removed. I put a few drops of glue to apply the KISS nails (not too much). I pressed firmly and smoothed over each nail to remove any air pockets the best I could. I applied polish and allowed them to fully dry. I also filed my natural nails to match up with the shape of the KISS nails. I love that these look like my natural nails that I grew out as opposed to that acrylic look (no curve or hump). I also feel like these nails protect my natural nails. You will see the nail sizes on the underside tips of each nail. You will get approximately 5 uses from this kit if you don't have to use 1 size for more than 1 finger.TIPS TO GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH-1. Be gentle and don't rush when prepping and applying the nails. They are very thin plastic which can crack. But as I mentioned above I didn't have that issue.2. You'll be tempted to tap your pretty nails on hard surfaces and on your phone screen...don't. This may loosen the nail over time and chip the polish.3. Use rubber dish gloves for dishes and cleaning.4. Don't pick things up or scratch an itch with your nails. Use the pads of your fingers or sides of your fingers. (or scratch lightly)5. Gently use a Q tip to clean the underside of your nails if needed. Don't use your other nails to pick stuff out.6. If you normally take hot showers just know that this may loosen the glue each day.7. If you find that they're too long you can trim them a bit with the KISS nail clipper. That way they will keep their pretty shape. (see my photos for a pic of the clipper)Im not used to nails this length and honestly I don't consider these to be "Active" length...more like "I have a maid and nanny" length. I had to use a stylus to type this review because it's long but short texting is kind of ok with these nails. Definitely takes some getting used to. I will come back and update how long they lasted.UPDATE 7/23/19: index finger nail popped off after 8 days. The others are still holding on quite strong. Ive been cleaning and doing dishes (w/dish gloves) preparing food and repeatedly washing my hands. The glue holds up REALLY well but I also made sure not to to be too rough on my hands. I honestly feel like I can get up to 2 weeks with these nails but I want to change my nail color so off they go. They hold polish really well. My polish still looks like I just applied it. The length became more comfortable after a few days but texting is a pain in the you know what. All in all this was FUN! I will most definitely be purchasing again and will use them maybe once a month for a different look. I love them! I can't stop looking at my hands lol. I've ordered some pretty nail decals and new polishes which I'll try on these nails for some fun summer looks. Will update photos after summer.

FROM A NAIL BITER OF 30 YEARS, THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT HAS WORKED FOR ME
I've always been embarrassed of the way my nails look but I cant stop, ive tried everything. Never thought of trying fake nails because I didn't think I could apply them to my short stubby nails. Well it turns out that spending an hour doing my own nails is a huge motivation for me to not bite them. When they look nice I feel so much better.I'm less likely to bite them when I've put time and effort into making them look nice. Sometimes I do still bite these ones off but the box comes with so many I just immediately reapply a new nail. It's helping my nails to regrow underneath because I'm biting the plastic nail and not the real one.The glue supplied is really so awesome, literally solidifies in 5 seconds. I actually enjoy doing my nails, never in a million years thought that would ever be true. Even if I just put a clear coat on they look great. The photo has some halloween stickers on them I added. It feels like I'm normal for once lol
