Baba Vanga: The Controversial Life and Legacy of the Influential Bulgarian Mystic

To my mind, the strength of this book is that Charles Rivers lays out Baba Vanga's life and prophecies and allows the reader to determine how much credence to give the story. Blinded since childhood, Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova (generally known as Baba Vanga) was a Bulgarian mystic and herbalist. It was stunning to read how many world leaders came to her door.This woman led a quiet life until the age of twelve, when she lost her eyesight and became clairvoyant. She lived a difficult life. By the end of her life, Baba Vanga was called the 'Balkan Nostradamus.' This is a different kind of story that I enjoyed reading.

I have read a lot about Vanga and watched a documentary on her life. So I know a lot of predictions of Vanga cited here are not true.Vanga never dated her predictions. When asked when the ww3 is going to happen, she said, "It is not going to happen for a long while. First, Damascus must fall". It's true that she said that the 44th POTUS is going to be African American and that he is going to be the last one. After that America is going to be marred in civil war for a long time". Some can say she was mistaken here. But was Trump fully a president? That's debatable. Many would say he had neither power nor respect. Is Biden a true president, or his teleprompter is - that's hard to say. Do we have a civil war here? Well, no one is shooting yet, it is more like a cold civil war at the moment.Interestingly, she has also predicted a strange disease worldwide, where seemingly healthy people suddenly fall dead (SADS anyone?) and Europe full of Muslim refugees and very cold.

I have been so excited to get this book!

Good read

Very interesting short biography of a recent Bulgarian mystic. The prophecies are all intriguing, but the last ones in the book are too far off to worry about.

Very alarming for what awaits the future of the human race. May God have mercy on our souls. Yet there is hopeawaiting us as well.

This is the history of Baba, with many of her claims. It is a good read and worth checking out.

Reading possibly interested to see what comes about

Baba Vanga maybe having a controversial life and predictions but she has a following that cannot be disputed. Her foreword on different topics has aided people to get perspective. A good lucid read to understand the clairvoyant mystic.

I was expecting a nice list of prophecies made by Baba Vanga, & I was severly disappointed !Her prophecies are quoted half-heartedly, and randomly thrown about, in this book (Baba Vanga: The Controversial Life and Legacy of the Influential Bulgarian Mystic).

Nicely written book. It narrates the popularity of Baba Vanga. It doesn't judge if the seer was correct most of the times or not, but leaves it to our judgement
