The AB Real Book Eb Edition: E Flat Edition (Jazz Horns) by ABRSM (2003) Sheet music

This might be good for some people, but I found it nearly useless. For me it is neither a Fake Book nor a Real Book. Melody is important for solos, not just chord progressions. Lyrics help to remember songs. As a bass player, I can remember the first line of over 500 songs, which for me triggers the melody and a bass line. Why in England must we only get chord progessions? Why prescribe the arrangement?

Excellent book using with ABRSM books grade 4 and 5

Not really a jazz saxophone player but I use this for sight reading mainly as there are a good mix of standards within the book, contains some great classics.
