Nicely detailed kit
Enjoyed building this kit, It's quite detailed and goes together nicely. The figure looked disappointing but when painted didn't turn out too bad .

First model in a long time
Haven’t built a model in 45 years. I built this one while recovering from surgery. Kept me busy and was fairly challenging for a novice. Lots of tiny parts.

Classique
Une variante intéressante de la Jeep Willis. Montage facile, prix modéré, détails corrects. Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de figurines.

Older kit that can still look great
In the halcyon days of old school 1970s modelling, Italeri reigned as one of the better manufacturers. Often, their kits excelled those of Tamiya: examples would imclude the Semovente SPG, the Panzer IV and the venerable Jeep. This particular kit is a rehash of the original jeep kit. The trailer has been deleted, and a sprue of parts for SAS jeeps based in Europe has been added. Oddly, the American driver is still included, and certainly won't be winning any beauty contests. Detail is adequate but not outstanding; what you would expect from a 1970s moulding. The guns and accessories are ok, and the three handled jerrycans are much better than the Tamiya embarrassments included in their N.African SAS jeep kit . Note for newbies - an African version can't really be built from this kit, only the European version. There is a bit of flash and sink marks to fix, but it is easily within the abilities of the average modeller. There was some variance in the real life Jeeps, such as weapon arrangements, windshield styles, tail baskets, rear armour and fuel tank layout. The French and Greek, in particular, had slightly different looks. So you can easily modify the kit for your needs, or to make something a bit different. The modeller can, of course, refine details, such as adding foil strips for strapping, etc. The Italeri "accessories" kit or the Tamiya "Allied Accessory kit" could be used to supply additional or alternate stowage. All in all, recommended.
