My favorite spread!
Staple in our house! Labeled as peanut free. (And it tastes better than peanut butter, imo) We use it for sandwiches, desserts, and I will admit that I often eat a spoonful from the jar when I need a treat with protein. The price is a little more than other brands, but the taste and quality make it worth it. There is occasionally a layer of oil on the top, but if you stir it before putting it in the refrigerator, it will be perfect!!

Safe Alternative To Peanut Butter At Reasonable Price
This is a great product at a great price, if you are looking for a replacement for peanut butter. I first purchased this at a health food store and paid well over the $6.99 price offered by Amazon. When I first opened it, I found some settling of oil on the top, and I found that if you don't mix it before use you will end up with a small dry mass at the bottom when the product is consumed. However, it isn't the tedious messy mixing required with natural peanut butter, and I found that my second jar remained mixed. SunButter is a little creamier than peanut butter, and a little bit "runnier". I don't know how it would fare as a substitute in peanut butter cookies, for example. As far as the taste, I would recommend that you think "sunflower seeds" when you take your first bite. For the most part it tastes like peanut butter, but the sunflower seed aftertaste might be off-putting if you aren't expecting it. Otherwise, it is a very pleasant mouthful. My doctor has me on a weight loss program, and one of the steps was introducing peanut butter. SunButter has 16g of fat, 4 gms of sugar and 7 gms of carbohydrates as does peanut butter, but slightly less salt. Sliced apples and SunButter is my go-to snack. There is always a couple of tablespoons of SunButter in a single-serve Rubbermaid container in my lunch box when I go to work. As a school nurse with multiple students who have allergies to peanut butter, I would recommend this as a safe alternative. I gave a sample to a co-worker whose daughter is highly allergic to peanut butter, and it was a hit with every member of her family.

Best thing since peanut butter!
Actually better than peanut butter. While I don't have peanut or tree-nut allergies, this is a great alternative for people who do. I just like it. This seems to be the most affordable brand, though I've switched to their crunchy version ("Natural Crunch"). There is actually another brand in the same price range that (like this one) is carried by Trader Joe's, which has less sugar. But this brand is still less sugary than most peanut butter brands (other than the overly expensive health-food stuff). It has a fantastic roasty taste, and is more like proper food than candy; it's maybe better compared to almond butter than typical peanut butter. I like it best on Dave's Killer PowerSeed Bread (which is pricey, but really good). Haven't been able to get that lately, so have been enjoying this on whatever is actually available from Amazon Fresh and isn't crappy. It's fun to have this on one slice, and almond butter on another, and peanut butter on another, for variety. If you're in a chocolate mood, this also mixes well with a bit of Nutella or similar (Middle Eastern markets have a cheaper alternative brand named Torku, which also comes in dark choco version). I actually prefer that with almond butter, though. I can't say whether it goes well with jelly/jam; I've never (even as a child) like PB&J sandwiches, so it's not the sort of thing I would test. I have started wondering how well this would do as a PB replacement in some dinner dishes that call for peanut, like spicy Thai peanut sauce for chicken, and some African groundnut recipes. I bet a sunflower version would be great.PS: If you like crunchy but it's sold out, you can just mix in some roasted, shelled sunflower seeds, which is what I was doing before I found that Sun Butter now has a crunchy version.

Very tasty seed spread
Purchased butter as substitute for peanut butter for my granddaughter since nut butters are not allowed at school. it was very tasty and had a mild taste. The texture was creamy and much looser than peanut butter. It spreads better if you use a spoon!! Good choice if your interested

This is my go to sunflower butter brand
Both of my kids are allergic to nuts and they really like this alternative. I feel safe serving this to them and never worry about cross-contamination. It's a little oily, but I know it's healthier.
