Years ago I used a grocery store's brand of coconut milk in my smoothie everyday because it was the only brand I could find that did not have guar gum (I can't stand that taste). Eventually, they quit carrying that brand of coconut milk. After trying the alternatives, all of which had guar gum, I was very disappointed and began using cartoned almond milk, but I also was not happy with cartoned almond milk because it contains soy and some other ingredients I don't want, and it doesn't have the high fat content of canned coconut milk.Eventually, I had the idea to look for a guar-gum-free canned coconut milk on Amazon and found this. I just opened my second can and it is exactly what I was looking for. It has a great taste (no guar gum), creamy consistency, high fat content, and only two ingredients - coconut extract and water.I will definitely be ordering this again. Highly recommend.

Update: I tried to continue using this coconut milk, but I just can't. I have a reaction every time I use it which includes a headache and hives. As stayed below, I believe they have an undisclosed ingredient, and the reactions give me further pause in that direction. I am on a strict anti inflammation diet, and this was my only recently added food when coconut is a "safe" food for me. If you are on a restricted diet, please beware of this coconut milk.As others have stated, 5 of my cans arrived dented in various locations. That was not as concerning as the fact that this does not act like any other coconut milk I have ever consumed. I first noticed it when I used it from a room temperature state. I added some to my hot tea, and rather than melt into the very hot liquid, it remained in chunks floating on top of my tea. It was even more noticeable when I got the can out of the refrigerator the next day. Most coconut milk will separate into the cream/oil/fat on top of the can and the coconut water on the bottom when chilled. This is what homemade coconut milk does, as well as every other canned coconut milk I have used. This coconut milk remained incorporated into a liquid with no solid parts when chilled. It is concerning because I don't know how they could get it to stay liquid stable like that without some kind of additive. I will not be using this brand ever again, and would caution those with dietary restrictions to be wary as well since I'm not 100% that they are disclosing all ingredients.

This brand changes their formulation frequently; the product is very inconsistent in taste, composition, and quality. Most recently, each can consists of perhaps 20% coconut oil. It definitely separates between a chalky white liquid and solid coconut oil (not coconut extract). This indicates more purity than when it was creamy (an indication of unreported guar) and I happen to prefer coconut oil to additives, but actual coconut extract would be better. If I wanted coconut oil, it is easily obtained on its own. As it stands, this “milk” is very oily. However, I do NOT react to it and from its appearance, I believe that the ingredients are clean and that there is indeed CURRENTLY no guar as the label states. Pleasant taste and texture in coconut milk is a luxury when you have sensitivity to additives, so I will continue to buy this brand, at least for now.

Easy pop top. At first I was hesitant because the texture an consistency was different to other brands I'd bought before. Then I remembered this had no guar gum. I tried my first can today - used it for coffee creamer. The flavor is very mild which I am happy about since I don't like a heavy coconut flavor in my coffee. I scooped the can contents into my food Ninja, added 2 tblsp of raw cane sugar, and a cup of hot water. Pulse blended a few times. The results were pretty good. I do think I will add a pinch of my own organic guar gum in the future to bind the coconut particles into a creamy puree to avoid separation. This way I get to decide how much and what kind is used.I really love the mild flavor and creamy texture. With all my food allergies I was delighted to learn how to use coconut milk creamer.

I use coconut milk for lots of different recipes. This is the best tasting coconut milk I ever tasted before and without all the additives.
