An escape with Ben Holiday
I started trying to read Magic Kingdom For Sale -- SOLD! many, many years ago when I was still spending part of each summer with my grandparents. They were never big on letting us watch tv so our (my brother and our cousins and myself) only options were to either play quietly in the house, go outside and play or sit quietly and read. My grandmother would take us to the public library and let us check out library books and she would always tell us that whenever she and my grandfather took their afternoon nap, we didn't have to take a nap too if we didn't want to but we had to at least be quiet so that we didn't disturb them while they napped. This was usually when we would read the books that we'd get at the library. This particular summer, my cousin had told me about these books and said that she had liked the first one. So I checked it out at the library and she moved on to check out the second book - The Black Unicorn. We were only at our grandparent's house for about a week before we went back home and I didn't get to finish the book. So when she told me that she had finished hers, I thought it was a bit incredible and I asked her how she had read it so fast. She told me, "Well, I skipped the boring parts."It wasn't until I started taking college classes that I decided to try reading Magic Kingdom For Sale -- SOLD! again. So once again, I checked it out at the public library. I'm doing good if I get to read a chapter a day when I read something, so it takes me a while to get through an entire book. That was the case this time too and once again, I didn't get to finish it before the book had to be returned to the library (public library, not the school library. The school's library didn't have books like this. They only had reference and educational material). I didn't want to have to keep checking it out and end up keeping it for two or three months, so I never got to finish reading it.Then several years ago, I came across the audio book and I put it on my kindle, thinking that I might come out better listening to it with headphones while I did other things at the same time. The charger port on my kindle went out, the battery died...and once again I was not able to finish the book.I've kept the book in the back of my mind since the first time I tried reading it when I was growing up and periodically, I would look for it in book stores or online and think about just buying it. But remembering that my cousin had told me that she had "skipped the boring parts" made me wonder if I really wanted to read more than just the first book. When I found the first three books in one volume practically for the price of a steal, I had to get it if for no other reason than to finally be able to finish the first book. I thought, "Well, if I get finished with the first one, I'll see what the next one is like since I will have it too. If I get desperate enough, I might read it anyway." I read the first book...finally. And later that night, I started on the second book. Before I knew it, I was half way through Wizard at Large and had already ordered volume two with the next two books in it. Now I am halfway through book five and awaiting the arrival of book six. This entire series has been fantastic. I have really loved and enjoyed reading it and they will be on my list of favorites forever. I never found any "boring parts", just parts that keep you reading because you want to know what's happening and why and how these characters are ever going to get out of the seemingly impossible situations that the author writes them into. They are absolutely delightful and very much as escape to sit and read. I have actually been thinking about getting some of this author's other books that he has written. I had always heard that he was good and he is actually one of the best that I have read. I am the kind of person that if the book does not grab me at some point within the first two or three chapters (maybe the first five chapters), If it is too easy to put down, I will never finish it. These grab you from the very beginning and they keep you with them until the very end. Once you start, you WANT to read them.

What a ride!
I got the first book in the series free as a stand alone for my Kindle when it was offered some time ago. I found the omnibus editions for this series after I finished the first book. I don't particularly like having 2 copies of the same book, but I couldn't beat the cheaper price for the bundle. I love this series, which, for me, is novel because I don't generally like fantasy novels. I think that because the main character is from "our" world, I was able to grow to like this series and care about the characters. I would recommend this to anyone who likes fantasy, even urban fantasy, because I think there's a strong enough tie into the real world that it isn't extremely far fetched as it might otherwise be now. I will start the second omnibus soon, and, hopefully, despite the bad reviews, the 6th book soon after I finish the second omnibus. I've yet to read a bad book series on my Kindle starting with a book that started a series when it was offered for free. Maybe I'm lucky or easily entertained. I can't wait to start the second omnibus.

Sometime it's best to leave childhood memories alone
I read this in middle school so many years ago and in some moment of nostalgia decided to reread it after purchasing a Kindle. Not the best decision I've made. As a book for a younger me it was amazing but now at 37 while I still enjoyed the first book the second book dragged some and the third I have yet to finish. Seeing as I read around 600 pages per night that says something. I love Terry Brooks and I loved these books when I was younger but it would have been best to have been content with my fond memories. As far as formatting goes everything seemed good and I had no complains in that area at all. His other series definitely have fair better as I have grown older.

All time FAVORITE!!
My dad handed me my first Terry Brooks book over 20 years ago and he has been my favorite author ever since. Magic Kingdom for sale is a wildly entertaining and engaging story. The sequels are equally good.

I fun series with minor mystery and suspense elements.
There was some violence but is was definitely less than you would normally find even in a Saturday morning cartoon. I would consider the first two books in the series as all age appropriate. The later books become a bit more mature but would still consider them appropriate for children in middle school and above.Neither this book nor the series is epic in scale. There is no saving of a world, only a small kingdom. Within this first book there is no great evil being fought against, rather a lot of minor problems that began because of the previous ruler and the apparent abandonment of the kingdom by said ruler. Possibly the biggest question is whether the hero of the story, chooses to accept responsibility for a kingdom in a world he never heard of before.

Great Service & Books
I am thankful for the convenience of the service, and that I can find most any book I want to read--easier than I can go to the library anymore (cause it has been closed cause of the covid shutdowns!) Prices aren't too bad either.

I have always loved Terry Brooks and having his books at my fingertips is wonderful. The Landover series is one of his best.

Fantastic Story, Poor Condition.
I love this story and they compiled three of the best into one big book so it takes less space on the shelf then three small books. The world building is great and the characters are likeable. Terry Brooks is an excellent writer. This note is for collectors. Do not order from Amazon. They do not take care of books and I got mine in really rough condition, there's fraying on the corners and edges. This is from poor handling and storage. It's almost like I got a used copy. (See Photos) This is 'Sold and Shipped' by Amazon so it's not a third party doing this. I'm planning to keep it as I don't know if this is because of an overworked employee manhandling or just ineptitude. Either way now that it's in my care it's not going to receive more damage and it's readable. Also not the first book I got from Amazon in terrible condition. (Will edit if I find internal damage)

Light hearted fantasy novel.
This book is much more light hearted with funny moments compared to Terry Brooks Shannara books. I liked it better and have read it twice.
