These work great.
We use them to start fires in our fireplace downstairs. With good wood, I can usually use 1 or 2 along with some kind of other starter to get it going. They usually burn long enough to get a small dry log or kindling going. By "another fire starter" I mean these are not the easiest to directly light themselves, and you'd probably be holding a lighter to them for a few seconds before they get going, so I use the wax-based fire starters under these, which just need a 1 second flame to get going. That then lights these, which light everything else.

Purchased When Source Was Ukrainian, now Sourced from China
It was a little expensive, but was sourced from the Ukraine, and seemed like a worthwhile purchase. Now sourced from China, and different wood types, would not consider buying again.

Had to use lighter fluid
Had to use lighter fluid to get the wood started. Once started, it burned well.

Lights easy and catches the logs easily
Just started using our new woodstove. Have used one large handful of these on each lighting, perhaps 12-15 pieces. They light very easily and keep burning long enough to kindle the logs. So far I’ve only had to use one fireplace match each time. The only other kindling I’m using are strips of torn cardboard and a few balls of newsprint paper. The sticks have thinner and thicker pieces as well, which makes it easier to poke them into the crevices. They are very dry and definitely are hardwood. Probably more expensive than necessary but one box is likely to last 40 fires or so. Overall I’m quite pleased.

Much less volume and pine pitch than other brands I have bought.
sticks are shorter and thinner than most other brands. Most brands you can smell the pine. The I couldn't.

Excellent Starter
Use these ALL the time to start our wood stove insert. A small pile of paper, a small pyramid of these, and a few slightly larger sticks make a great beginning. Cheaper than fat wood, burns clean and fast. Small enough to light quickly, but enough mass to create some coals and keep things going. Small size and wide variety of thicknesses make it easy to get a good fire started the first time every time in any size stove. Highly recommended!

This works great for me!
I tried the “fatwood”. I don’t know what I did wrong, but I couldn’t get it to light and stay lit and then burn. A total fail for me. These kindling sticks worked great, fast fire start!!Thank you so much for a reliable product!
