I LOVE these socks! I've been searching for socks that won't crush my ankles and cause my feet to get cold and leave deep marks. If you have larger feet, ankles and/or legs, you absolutely need to get these socks. They are loose all through the feet and ankles, yet the NEVER bunch up or fall down. I will be buying multiple pairs for myself and my son. One of the best purchases I've ever made on Amazon (and I've made hundreds). My sizes of shoes vary from 11-12 depending on brand so get the Large and not the XL, they fit perfect. If you use inserts or custom orthotics, these are thick so may make your shoes a bit tighter. Love them!

Best socks ever for large ankles/calves ! I am a woman who has always had large calves and ankles, but now with the lovely aging process going on (I am 52), they keep getting larger! I was supposed to get older and wiser, not older and WIDER! I could not find socks that do not pinch or bind, or leave me with a deep ankle ring by the end of the day. THESE socks are great - they stay up well enough, do not sink or disappear into my shoes, and have never left a ring around my ankles. I wear a women's shoe size 11-12 wide, or mens 10.5D, and the LARGE socks fit great. I could maybe use one size smaller, but I tried the large, they work beautifully, so I am staying with them. The socks are not as thick and "sturdy" looking as other athletic socks that I have tried, but the openness of the weave is likely WHY they fit so well. This also helps with sweating and "heat on the feet." These are VERY comfortable to wear, in shoes and around the house. The first pair I bought, I have worn probably a dozen times, with washings in between, and they still look like new. I have ordered many more now, in black and in white. I am getting ready to toss all the other socks that I bought to try out (which "worked", but not nearly as nicely..), and fill my drawer with THESE.

Tired of elastic imprints on your ankles? Tired of looking frumpy because you gotta scrunch down your socks? You need these. I threw out all my other casual socks and now exclusively wear these. SOOOO Comfortable! I wear size 13 EEEE and these are perfect. I'm 6'2 and 350lbs, needless to say I got some cankles for sure. DO NOT get a size bigger than your shoe size like you have to with other brands. You will be swimming. Once again....YOU NEED THESE IN YOUR LIFE.

First - the good things about these socks. They are loose fitting socks. If you are like me, you may have been looking for loose fitting socks for a long time, trying to make your old loose fitting socks last as long as possible and owning the newer, tight fitting socks that irritate you due to the skin tight design. If you are looking for the old style, loose fitting socks, look nor further. These are great loose fitting socks. I have been trying all different types of socks for years with no luck. Just for reference, I wear size 15 shoes and I purchased the white socks in size large. They have a nice blue band/stripe that goes all the way around the toes. As far as I can tell, this is just for aesthetics. It is made using the same material as the sock and is about 1/4 inch wide.Now for the imperfections that I noticed. After ordering one pack and trying them out, I ordered 4 more packs. The socks shrunk in the dryer a little more than I was expecting but I still think I got the right size for my feet. A couple of the socks run shorter on the ankles than the rest of the socks. I haven't tried all the socks on yet but I found two that are a little short compared to the other socks. Because it is very difficult to find good, loose fitting socks, I rate this a 4 out of 5 and I am happy with my purchase. I highly recommend you buy one pack, try them, wash them and dry them and make sure they fit you well before purchasing more. If you are like me, you want to have plenty of these in your sock drawer to last you for many years to come. I think they are true to size unless your feet are really wide. If I wore a shoe size bigger than 15, I would probably try the larger size sock due to shrinkage in the dryer.

I wear a size 15eeee shoe and these socks are fantastic!! Where have you been the last 25 years of my life?!?! I am so pleased with these socks I could sing! Summoning up my best Madeline Kahn from 'Young Frankenstein', "Ohhhhh, sweet mystery of life at last I found you..." Okay maybe not quite that happy, but I hope you get my point. I am extremely pleased with these socks so far. I am very hard on socks and my previous brand, while comfortable, wore out quickly. I haven't had these socks long enough to testify to their durability, but they seem to be nice and heavy. The elastic quarter upper sock is very stretchable and comfortable, yet strong enough to hold it up. I need to find out if they make other styles, or dress socks.

I didn't even notice that I had these socks on today. I noticed how thick they were which was nice for padding, but my feet did not feel overly hot. I wear a men's 8 1/2 4E shoe with orthotics. So thick socks work. At the moment the ankle in the photograph is 13" in circumference. I had a cancer that metastasized to my lymph system 5 years ago. I had edema before that, but since so many lymph nodes were removed my edema is uneven. sometimes it's more on the right or more on the left. Or just two toes on one foot or all the toes on both feet but the right ankle is much more swollen than the left ankle. In summary the top of the sock was too tight around my ankle and 15 minutes later the indention is still there. I love the socks I just wish they were looser around the top than they are. They were advertised truthfully I just happen to have really large cankles. Gravity and standing on your feet all your life will do that.

I have tried many brands of socks in search of socks that are non-binding. I have found other socks that felt comfortable when I put them on but irritate my ankles after a short while, some socks that make my feet sweat too much, etc. Overall these socks are the most comfortable that I have found. They feel cooler on my feet than thinner socks, have enough cushion on the bottom for long walks and feel better around the ankles than any other sock I have used. I have purchased more expensive socks but these are the most comfortable I have tried.
