Red Heart Irresistible E848.7931 Yarn, Tiramisu

It recommended an 18mm (Q) crochet hook, but I feel like a 20+mm would be better. I decided to hand crochet one of those chunky knit blankets and this yarn is turning out pretty great! It’s SO soft!! Got the tiramisu color and it’s a combo of grey, white, and tan... maybe a touch of a green undertone but it’s very pretty! This blanket will end up being a very large throw, and I’m using 8 skeins. It of course depends on how tight you’re crocheting, because when I tried to crochet it with the 18mm I would have probably needed 15 or more skeins to achieve the size I wanted.

Arrived quickly, same dye lot which doesn't always happen. I made a blanket and it was so satisfying watching chunky yarn like this knit up so fast!

It is soft. However, I made three blankets for my daughters for 2 Christmas ago. It is very heavy, it sheds and frays very easy. After a month the blanket looked terrible. I spent a lot of time and money on the blankets and was very disappointed. I would recommend using a different yarn for chunky blankets.

This yarn is labeled "professionally dry clean", which I did. IT WAS RUINED. The dry cleaners stated that it was due to the heating used to remove the dry cleaning solvent from the item cleaned. As I had made a large knit blanket, it could not be hand washed and dried with any practicality. I was reimbursed for the loss, but needed to make another Christmas present at the last minute due to the item being ruined. Poor labeling by the manufacturer...or...mishandling by the cleaners? I'm caught in the middle! Buyer beware!

This yarn “pilled” so terribly, it looks like my blanket is covered in cobwebs. I am quite disappointed in the quality of this yarn especially when considering how expensive it is.
