LEGOCity Great Vehicles 60054 Light Repair Truck

This set retails at $9.99 ($9.97 at Wal-Mart) so I think the Amazon price is a pretty good deal. The box says 5-12, but with most lego sets I would say 5+ is a better rating. I love this set because it comes with the street light/stop light combo. First, I find little items like this to be rare (the only other stop light I have is from the Batman Caccycle City Chase set #6858), second I like this because the light repair truck actually has a light to repair unlike the tow truck set (#60056) which doesn't come with another vehicle for you to tow. This set, once built, is definitely for 5 year olds and older because the truck is sturdy and the lift is very, very cool (two extension arms connected to a 360 degree rotating platform), plus I love the street light! As for the build, I think all newer Lego sets have easy to follow instructions (2-4 pieces added per step) but this set may be a bit more challenging to a 5 or 6 year old than other sets with the same age range on the box. First, I think that stickers are a bit tricky (they are for me, I imagine they are for 5-6 year olds too). Second, the arms for the cherry picker require some special paying attention to because of the pins and rotators that are attached at the ends. Aside from that, this is a quick build and when you're done the set not only looks really good, but it also offers lots of playability with the mini-figure, his tools, the cherry picker, traffic cones, stop light, street light and truck.

A nice little set that is easy to assemble. By the way, why don't more adults admit that they buy Lego sets for themselves? And, it is ridiculous to separate construction vehicles, trains, space sets, etc., by listing them as toys for boys. It is perfectly acceptable for girls to enjoy such toys, too, with an inclination towards scientific or engineering careers, or at least an understanding of such fields.This set is a nice addition to my other city sets, and I recommend it for you, too.

This lego set is great.My 5 years old was able to assemble it with almost no help. Once assembled there is a lot of little details that make it fun to play with.You can block the road with the little cones. Fix the light fixture or the traffic light. The worker can drive the car, store his tool etc.One of the best city lego vehicle for younger ones.

What can you write about lego products? They are great and with the ages for children. I have a grandson who is 3 1/2 years old and wants to have these small toys. He does not put things in his mouth and is very careful when he plays with this truck cause he knows if he plays too hard the truck will fall apart. So he is very careful. But I would recommend that it's up to the parents to the child to know if there child can play with a small product like this. I do love Legos and I go back 38 years from my children that played first with Duplo then the smaller pieces.

I don't know what it is but i love this little truck. The lift goes really high and can reach the top of the light and folds down nicely into the back where it latches in place. The light itself is sturdy and a nice addition to the city if you have roads throughout.There is only one minifigure, but that can be expected with a set this small. It does come with a wrench and coffee mug.Overall: cute little car that i would recommend. I might be getting a couple more of these myself. Enjoy.

Bought this as a present for my 4 YO nephew who is just getting into Legos. He is too young to really follow any of the fancy building kits yet, and also slightly too young to be overly creative with a set of 700 lego blocks in front of him. He needed something that was easy and would peek his interest to keep him playing and experimenting with the bigger legos until he gets a little older. This was perfect! It has some moving parts, a person (minifigure), and is very "boy friendly" with the construction theme. He just loves that the bucket on the truck can be moved up and down, and that he can have his lego man "fix" the street light. I'll be looking for more of these City sets, as I think they are a good way to supplement the harder sets of legos for his age range.

Cute set my son loves it for his Lego city but this is no $56 set!!! Got totally ripped off except it was my 10yo w his gift card he insisted. Not worth the money

My grandsons love all things Lego and I am constantly looking for small sets to supplement the blocks I already have for their use in my playroom. This vehicle has the outstanding vehicle quality of lego products and I did get it at a slightly lower price than elsewhere, important since Legos are so expensive. There are small parts so I would not recommend this for under age 6 but it is a great addition to my collection.
