This innovative soldering plate is made of durable alumina ceramic that is specially molded in a honeycomb design to reflect heat. Each hole is about 2 millimeters wide, and runs the full 2 centimeter depth of the plate. This provides the added benefit of anchor points for pins or wires, which can be used to hold parts in place for delicate and intricate soldering and welding jobs, such as silversmithing and jewelry making. This lightweight block is made of non-asbestos ceramic, which is heat resistant up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit (1093 degrees Celsius). Please note that while the board itself can withstand high temperatures, it must be used on a fireproof surface, as it does conduct heat.
