I love a good MC book. Some of my favorite books have been MC books. This is not a good one. Many of the bloggers recommend this author and her MC books. No more by this author for me. I disliked both of the main characters. I compare all MC couples to Eva and Duece -Undeniable series- and Ginny and Grizz-Nine Minutes trilogy. The main female character-Marie- was weak stupid and immature. Eva and Ginny from Undeniable and Nine Minutes were very young when they were introduced in their stories. Neither one of these gals were ever immature and certainly not stupid. Their love stories were special. Marie and Horse did not have a love story. There are many bad boys to fall in love with but there was nothing exciting or exceptional about Horse. Duece West and Preppy have raised the bar high for bad boys. I have a list but Horse will not be on it. This book was a loser for me.

NOT COOL
Long story short, it didn't work for me. Don't get me wrong, I love bad boys and I was really excited to read about a MC and its riders, but the plot, the characters and the author's style of telling the story kinda threw me off. So basically everything was wrong, therefore the 2*.Not cool:1. The rape vibe i got most of the book.2. Marie, the white trash stupid doormat. Joanna Wylde, honey, where's your feminine side? How could you make a female character look so bad? :(3. "Horse: Cause I'm hung like one." Reading all this erotica and romance book i know all authors (and us readers) want the male characters to be very well equipped. But seriously? Horse?! It kinda ruins everything. I also felt confused because i thought he was a poor mixture of loving, romantic, i-wanna-have-your-babies, honorable military, alpha male and chauvinistic, a-hole, rapist, misogynist SOB.4. Mixing the military, navy SEAL and vets in all this s***. It doesn't feel right. I'm not living in America and I don't really know what they're doing after they leave the Army, but i don't (like) to think they join a (lets face it) criminal gang, motorcycles or not. They should have a special, honorable place, even in our books. :)I can find more, but i think you already got my point. Since 99% of my (very few) GR friends enjoyed this book so much, all i can say is Thank God we're all different, otherwise life would be so boring!.

Annoying timeline ruined it
Another book that starts three-quarters of the way through the plot, then goes aaaaallll the way back to spend time telling a story I no longer care about and catches up with where it started for the reader halfway through the book. No. Stop. It irritated me as a reader and I wind up skimming to get to the part where the timeline syncs up. I won't read authors who do this. It's a cheap tactic to try to book me. You want to book me, just tell a good story. That said, this wasn't a good story. Didn't like the disrespectful attitudes of the men toward the heroine from the beginning and didn't like how passive and weak the h was. Never felt a connection with the characters and thought the H was just a jerk. But seriously, once I rea!ized this timeline was going to be a nonlinear mess, I was done with this book and this author. Pass.

Same old, same old.
I reminded myself why I don't read fan girl books with this mess. All these gushing reviews because they love this author. No offense, but WHY? Do they even read them? Another stupid trailer park girl. Why always make these poor women so stupid? And she IS stupid. She annoyed me at 20% on my kindle. Had to put this one on the back burner. Thank goodness it was free. Read hades hangman for some perspective (ie: fanfreakingtastic writing style, lots of character development, and some SERIOUSLY strong woman. So over the "me see dumb but hot woman, me want hot dumb woman, me take her even though she is annoying and dumb as a brick. On to find something with substance.

A hot MC book with a suspensful plot and likeable characters
So I'm hit and miss on MC books - some I really like and some I hate. I really liked Reaper's Property by Joanna Wylde. The book centers on Marie and Horse (okay it's not my favorite nickname but I got past that). Horse is the accountant for he Reapers MC and he's not only totally hot but he's smart and he has a really sweet side. Marie is a bit naïve and she really doesn't understand the MC world at all. That actually worked for this storyline and it was interesting to watch as Marie found out more about how it worked and opened her mind to a different way of living. Horse and Marie have quite a few misunderstandings and it usually revolves around the fact that Marie doesn't understand the "MC lifestyle" and Horse expects her to. Horse can be very direct and a bit controlling but since we know why he acts this way he doesn't cross the line into being an A**.There is an interesting and suspenseful plot woven into the story and also some humor. There is also quite a bit of hot sex. Both characters grow (especially Marie) and are faced with some tough decisions and changes that their relationship brings into their life. Quite a few interesting side characters that I'm sure will get their own books later in the series as well.Overall, an MC story I really enjoyed and a series I plan to continue.

Meaningless Erotica - Yes, Good Plot - No
After researching MC clubs and the whole thing with 'ole ladies', i stumbled across an article written by this particular author regarding the truth of the real women who live in this world. As such, I figured this will be a good book. I was wrong. It's not bad but it's not good either. I would have preferred to have given it 2.5 stars in all honesty.1) The POV changes from 1st person with Marie to 3rd person with Horse and a few odd scenes where it appears to be omniscient. It's very offputting. If the author had done Horse's POV in 1st person, it would have been much easier to deal with however, this leads me on to point 2...2) The distinct feeling between the characters and the author is that there really isn't much of a relationship. My only guess as to why she writes Horse's POV in 3rd person is because she doesn't know him well enough to get inside his head and write him as 1st person. Having said that, the 1st person POV from Marie is sometimes a little...off and leaves you wondering 'Really?'3) There are pointless sex scenes. Sure, if you like erotica where its all just for the sake of getting yourself off then this will certainly give you some images but to me, they were alot like 50 Shades - stuffed in just to pad out the book. If you push the sex aside, you have probably a 10 chapter novel with a weak plot.4) Horse was way too 'Alpha' for me. Like, overboard. I didn't like him nor did i fully buy that he was into Marie. Their relationship needed much more development.5) Having suffered in an abusive relationship myself, i can wholly testify that a woman who has come from this kind of relationship will not feel her nipples instantly harden at the sight of a man (that doesn't happen in real life!!) let alone take him into her bed.6) I found myself getting very bored, skipping parts and thinking 'Well, this must be relevant to the story because it's in here' but no - a whole chapter dedicated to a funeral which was tiresome and actually sent me to sleep. The whole punch of it being that Marie got in a car with a guy who tried to rape her. Really? So shes been beaten, abused and nearly raped by 2 different guys but she trusts one enough to get in a car with him? Alone? No. Wouldn't happen.7) Despite other readers saying the second book is much better, I have no desire to carry on with this series. In my opinion, the first book should be the best otherwise you will lose readers - like the author is about to here.8) There are alot of typos and grammar errors. With a book of this shortness, there should have been hardly any.I didn't want to leave a review such as this but I felt it only fair to give an honest review that other readers like myself will appreciate the honesty of and not have to read 'amazing' 5 star reviews which have been bought or given by friends and family.

No character depth! Very unrealistic! But an easy, typical mc read.
I struggled to rate this book because the plot is way too unbelievable, I didn't believe that Maria being a battered wife would want such a dominant Alpha Horse. Her mother marrying the rich guy was so far fetched. I also wasnt made to feel like Horse actually loved Maria. But I have to admit I kinda liked this as an erotica. There are some hot scenes, theyre nit quality more quantity but I started of loving the aggressive, sexy, biker Horse but he unfortunately also crosses that fine line into a horse's-ass.The character's lacked depth, especially Maria. I didn't get why Horse goes for her. Why he give up all those beautiful, sexy women that have casual sex with him, for her? We kind of get a little more depth with Horse, with the scene after his brothers death but I still didn't believe that a battered woman like Maria, would go for a man like Horse. She is an abused woman who only just escaped her violent ex. No way she would go for such a full on, aggressive and violent man, a guy who punches a hole in the wall beside her just because she refuses him sex! And a form of public sex at that too. He also beats the heck out off her brother in front of her. So although I actually like my MC biker men rough and dont mind the story or Horse, the background and nature of the characters makes their romance very unbelievable. The sex scenes in all these books are way too similar. (I have read the first 3 books in this series). What's with all the nipple hardening just from looking at a strange man! And the guys making the girls squeeze their bits harder than she would have on her own! The story is also in a strange combination of 1st combination with Marie's pov and 3rd person for Horse and the third person narrative is so light, that it's really just first person pov with third person titles, making for strange reading. Im kind of shocked this comes from someone who worked as a journalist and editor because of it. Some sentences don't even make sense, the vocabulary is very poor and it is a bit repetitive. There is way too much unnecessary narrative and conversation, placed in weird situations within the book. These all make for a bit of boring read. But this isn't the worst I've read and if you are just looking for the usual, fairly typical mc book, with Alpha males and don't care too much about a believable plot, then I guess this is an an okay 3 stars. But I definitely don't get the higher ratings on this and what is with the £5 & £8 price tags on the books in this series.. so not worth that money. I didnt take stars away for the price but the cost definitely stops me from buying this series!

Great storyline but as an MC book it needed to be darker!
This book has been out for a few years but I've recently starting reading the MC genre and really love it, you can definitely bag yourself a bad boy biker as a bbf. This book started off with Marie's brother being at the mercy of the Reapers MC after it was revealed he had stolen from them. Payment was to be made in blood, either he dies or his sister pays his debt by agreeing to be Horse's old lady. So to save her brothers life she agrees to their terms. The plot of the book was very good and thoroughly addictive, well written, descriptive and had a few surprises along the way. I really enjoyed the character of Horse, showing that deep down all he wanted was a 'House Mouse' to love and look after him. He felt that connection with Marie. The book was predominantly told in the first person by Marie. There were a few instances of the book being told in the third person when Horse's POV was required. This didn't sit right me. I'm not a fan of third person as I don't feel we are allowed to connect with the characters, we don't truly get to get inside their heads to know what they are thinking. Which leads me to believe the author understood Marie and could portray the story from her POV but she didn't truly understand Horse and wasn't able to get inside his head. I haven't read many books where the POV changes from first to third. It is normally one or the other. So I found this off putting. On the plus side I estimate only 10% of the book was told from Horse's POV.Finally, the book was quite tame, considering these are bikers, 1%ers the language and actions were toned down quite a lot. I would've preferred it to be more gritty, more intense, darker. But that didn't detract from the story, just my preference when reading this genre.

This revs on full throttle. A 'hot' thrill ride with grit. 4-Stars
BOOK REVIEW: Reapers Property (MC,#1) - Joanna Wylde..."We're men - one percenters. F- kings of the MC world. We don't follow rules, we make our own G-dam-n rules."Whoa! I just took a very hot ride at break-neck speed. The Reapers revved my engine at full throttle and blew my pistons to smithereens, but Holy Hot Pipes, what a rush...!Horse what have you done to me? With a name like that, come on... all bad analogies and clichés be damned, but regardless of a name... a road name no less, this book has just rekindled my love of bad-A bikers. Yes, okay I admit it, I'm a Sons of Anarchy fan and I loved Madeline Sheehan's book `Undeniable', and felt the need to jump back on the `Old Lady' train (or two wheeled demon), and hit up another biker territory - the Reapers MC of Idaho did NOT disappoint.*Marie Jensen has not had it easy. Raised in a dilapidated trailer in the middle of nowhere, with just her Mother and Brother for company, she found an early escape into the arms of the high-school football quarterback, Gary. Marrying too young, their dreams and prospects of a career were short-lived when reality hit hard, manifesting into one of minimum wage jobs and a hefty mortgage. Gary hit the booze and made his frustrations known by using his fist. Her Mother is in jail for assaulting a cop, so Marie's only saving grace and place of refuge is with her Brother, Jeff, back at the trailer where she spent her childhood, two hours away from her now broken home.Jeff is a computer whiz kid, but keeps his affairs private. All Marie knows is that he works at his own pace, in his own time and is more than happy to fill in the gaps with smoking pot and a chilled disposition. However, things take a twist when his private work turns up on their doorstep, literally! The Reapers Motorcycle club take a close interest in their business associates, especially when it comes down to the club's financial investments. Marie cannot help but feel nervous around them, but one of the member's more so. Horse is a large, heavily tattooed, Harley riding bad-boy who invades her thoughts constantly and fuels a hidden fire that Gary never managed to stoke. But he's bad news... real bad news. When a business transaction goes wrong, with Jeff caught stealing from the Reapers to help fuel a hidden gambling addiction, there is a bullet with his name on it. A blood debt needs to be paid and with Horse's sights still set on Marie; he knows exactly what he needs to do...Marie will do anything to help her Brother, so she accepts the blood debt, and goes home with Horse - the man with a split personality. If he would stop giving her the greatest sex of her life, maybe she could continue to hate him. But Jeff isn't giving up, and makes a pact with the devil in the form of drug Cartels and an enemy MC as he stops at nothing to get his Sister back. All hell is about to break loose, and Marie is planted firmly in the firing line. It would be easier to run if she hadn't fallen in love with her captor, and when some home-truths are laid out, she knows that putting her trust in her pot-head Brother may not have been a wise decision afterall...*Like I said before: BAD-A$$! Horse is one of those characters who makes your toes curl one minute and makes your heart drop into your stomach the next. There were times when I felt particularly bad for Marie and others when I thought she was the luckiest biatch on Earth. Yeah... Joanna Wylde knows how to keep her readers hanging on by the thread of their panties. However, lying deep within the heart of this book is a strong message, that the MC is one big family, a band of Brothers that would fight to the death, to protect that 1%.A truly great read that's heavy on the steam factor. Strictly 18+4-Stars.

Reapers property
Men and theirs fragile egos are a pain in the ass. Horse is a biker and when he meets Marie he is determined to make her his "old lady" which apparently in the biker world is a big deal. Basically means he would own her end off she belongs to him. Marie is just out of a bad marriage and doesn't take kindly to his Neanderthal ways and tells him to piss off. We then find out that her brother has been stealing from the reapers which means his death. But horse persuades the gang to let him buy Marie and give Jeff a chance to pay them back. Horse gives Marie a choice she becomes his "house mouse" or they kill her brother. He is pretty s***y to her throughout the book cos she didn't just fall at his feet when he asked her to be his but Marie can't seem to stop wanting him. I liked Marie she is a tough cookie even when she is surrounded by bad ass bikers. She wants to save her brother but learns a harsh lesson you can't save everyone especially if they are not willing to save themselves. Horse comes across as a tough biker but we learn there are a lot of layers to him and he would do anything for his brothers and Marie. Will definitely be reading the next one.

Not bad.
Really enjoyed this story, but I felt there was something missing from the author when telling the tale. She never described the female character, only that she was five foot four, there wasn't much depth too the characters, but I wanted to stick with the story. I liked horse, Marie was a little annoying at times, and saying okay all the time to horse got really annoying. Having said that I know sometimes it takes reading the second book in the series for things start to get better. I just downloaded the second book and it's way more descriptive, giving character detail and story background. It might help that the second book isn't published under eloras cave. Here's hoping this series gets better.14.7.14, update, started reading book two, ruger and Sophie's story, on 34% on my kindle, wow it's good. More character development, couple aren't just throwing themselves at each other and having sex sex sex all the time, I'm sure that's to come, as the attraction and tension is building. I don't mind hot sex in books, but I have to feel something for the characters. It's def worth reading the first book just to get to this one. Joanna Wilde is building a very good reaper mc story. Will def follow this series now.

"I'm called Horse because I'm hung like one!"
This book was recommended by another author on Facebook, and I have to say wasn't to sure about this book because it's not really my type of book. But I'm so glad I took a chance because it was a really brilliant book. It's definitely not for the faint hearted. It was raw, graphic in some places, great written sex scenes. The Motorcycle Club (MC) is a family and nobody messes with the Reapers. You mess with them they mess with you. Harder.Marie has left her abusive, cheating husband and lives with her brother Jeff.Jeff has been working for the Reapers and has been stealing money and now owns them $50,000. Jeff can't pay that back so Horse says his sister Marie can be collateral, giving Jeff time to pay it all back with interest without the Reapers killing him.Marie agrees because she doesn't want Jeff to die.The Reapers, have been hanging out with Jeff and Marie for months which is how Marie first met Horse.Horse and Marie are attracted to one another but the lifestyle Horse lives scares her. Horse wants Marie to be 'his old lady'. Very old school, meaning respect and belonging. But Marie doesn't want to be 'Horse's property'. Which is why he came up with the "collateral" plan so he can clam her. There twists and turn on the way and you meet the rest of the 'old ladies' they are funny, smart and very strong woman.Horse at the beginning was a douche bag, but during the book he changed my mind and he grew on me, Marie, to me seemed week in the beginning but most definitely grew stronger and grew a backbone. I liked her character a lot. All the Reapers grew on me. They are best bad, good guys I've read in a long time. The way this book was written was different to what I expected. The first chapter you read the present then it goes back to when Marie first met the Reapers and Horse. Then you go back to the present and then you catch up. It was so well written and you don't get lost to were your at and then it goes from Marie's pov to Horse's pov, but still written in the 3rd person. This book for me is well worth the 5 stars and more. I read it in a day and I'm going to read the next book. Defiantly well worth you attention and so recommend.

Item description:The item came in perfect condition and safely packaged. The quality of the cover is not very strong and bent easily. The paper inside is thin but okay quality. The writing size and font is easy to read and overall the item is good.Story rating:Well what can I say about this book. It's awesome! It's crude, it's rude, it's rough and it's totally pantie melting hot. Second time around I read and it was just as good. I get it's it's a hardcore biker story and just what i love. 5+++ star rating

I want my own "HORSE"
I really can't stress enough how much I adored this book... It will be read again!!!Marie has recently separated from her abusive husband, her high school sweeheart... She has returned to the family trailer and is looking for work, trying to get her life back together. One afternoon a horde of bikers turn up at her door looking for her brother, as he is working on something for them. The bikers come and go more and more, one of them takes a particular shine to Marie and her to him. "Horse" is his name, reason being that he is "hung like one". Marie and Horse grow close, but her naiivity causes friction between the pair. Then her brother makes a decision that throws everything up in the air. He steals from one of the most notorious biker gangs in the states. Horse is the only one who doesn't want to kill him as punishment, as he is still very interested in Marie. The opening chapters show the ultimatum Marie is given... Move in with Horse, or we kill your brother... Marie will stay with Horse until her brother can come up with the money he has lost... as collateral...The story has more ups and downs than Universal Islands of Adventures and the begining of the book is a bit odd as it goes backwards and forwards in time. Part of the book is also written from Horse's POV, but in third person.Overall I loved every second of it, I was hooked, I stayed up late to read and could quite happily read it again. The sex scenes were out of this world and its obvious that the author has put a great deal of effort into researching the world of the Biker Gangs...For fans of Sons of Anarchy, and people that like bad boy bikers and sex...5/5 from me...

Marie & Horse
The bad ass biker Horse was loveable from the start, with his possessive alpha male standing firm in his pursuit to make Marie surrender to him, whilst being ruthless, sweet and taking advantage of the situation at the same time for his own interests at heart. Marie's character was strong and she really loved her brother Jeff, she handled the situation her brother got them into with strength and loyalty, overcoming the fear of losing him and her own safety, but with Horse looking out for her and wanting to claim her as his own property she was always in safe hands and going nowhere lol. I loved how their feelings towards each other was upfront and I felt Marie's pain in having to carve a new lifestyle and having to deal with Horse's past, but Serena was actually kind and you couldn't totally hate her. You really got to feel how much Horse loved Marie and the way he dealt with jealousy I wanted to slap him for his behaviour when Marie goes out with his sister and the other old lady's, argh men! lol, but it did confirm where his feelings towards Marie were at. I loved this book, it kept me on edge with what was going to happen, you also got to read about the dark side of the mc lifestyle, the ending was a shocker and I absolutely loved Horse and Marie need more of their hea, definite re-read for me!

Reaper's Property
Set in the world of Hell's Angels, with 'Horse' and 'Marie' as the central characters, Horse named 'Horses, because i'm hung like one' and Marie the woman that he wan't to pin down in more ways than one. The story line is quite enjoyable the sizzling sex is very enjoyable and Horse ticks all the boxes for a handsome alpha male protecting his woman! It's not an overly long read 6 hours tops, but became quite addictive and was easy to read through, the first couple of chapter did flip back and forth in time but it seemed an effective way to set the reasons in place for the rest of the story to follow and weren't an issue for me to grasp! Yes if you have read Kristen Ashley's Motorcycle Man and enjoyed it then this will tick your box..another steamy, sexy, sizzler with a HEA

Loved it
This was a great story, my only complaint was the hopping back and forward through time at the beginning but it stopped doing that at 30% so that was great. The story was exciting and filled with family, friendship and heat, an all round great read.

Worth the wait!!!!
I feel like I've had this book on my TBR list for forever but I've finally got round to reading it.This book is brilliant and an absolute must read. I love MC based books and this one was another treat. Horse is to die for and Marie's character complimented him perfectly. It was nice not to have an irritating female alongside an alpha male for a change.Horse's dark and sinister side compared to his caring and loving side was dee-lish <3 I can understand what all the fuss was about amongst my friends. The storyline was interesting and kept me focused throughout and the steaminess was just the icing on the cake.

OMG
If I could give this book more than 5 stars then believe me I would. I loved everything about . It the characters are fab and the story amazing. I was gripped from the beginning. When I started reading it I couldn't put it down, needing to know what happens next. Only disappointing thing about this book is that it ended. I could have kept reading more about Marie & horse and all the other reapers... I've never been into bikes but I am now. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone you'll be drawn in and unable to put it down just like I was. Xxx
