Great fit and worked as it should

There are two pulleys on my 42" Craftsman/Husqvarna (AYP) deck, one is smaller (the one on the idler tensioner, part #196106) and one is larger (the fixed tensioner, part #193197) This particular item is sold as a replacement for the smaller 196106 tensioner pulley but is actually the 193197 size that should be used as the fixed pulley. If you are indeed trying to buy the smaller tensioner pulley THIS ISN'T IT. Look for part #173437 to replace the smaller tensioner 196106 pulley. There are several vendors who sell these pulleys as sets.

Does the job and fits like it should

Chraftman 42" mower, model # 917.287120, mower deck parts list item # 145. P/N 197379 Pulley, Idler. This pulley is 4" in Diameter as compared to the new part being 5 3/8".Amazon Replacement Pulley For Craftsman, Poulan, Husqvarna, 197379 or 196106 Flat Idler Pulleyby Rotary. Ordered part and received Rotary P/N 13-13175. As pictured these two pulleys are not the same size.13175 FLAT IDLER PULLEY 3/8In. X 5-3/8In. Replaces AYP/ROPER/SEARS 196106 and HUSQVARNA 532 19 61-06.I don't know how or why these parts are listed as suitable subs but as you can see in the picture something isn't quite right.Follow up: It looks like either my deck was built incorrectly or the mfg produced a parts list with the wrong part numbers associated with the parts diagram. My bet is the parts list is incorrect. Craftsman online parts dept wasn't much help. Either way the part number ordered and delivered seem to be correct for that pulley but not for how the mower deck is built or per parts list. Seller has agreed to the return of the part.

Bought this pulley for my Craftsman lawn tractor model number 9172276680 to replace part number 196106 and it was an exact fit. The description say this part can also replace part number 197379 but I don't see how because that pulley is much smaller and would not fit in that pully's location on my particular model of lawn tractor.

So glad I bought this on Amazon. The idler pulley was the perfect replacement part for my Husqvarna tractor. Had it installed in less than 5 minutes and works great. I have mowed my 2 acres 8 times since I replaced it and have had no issues.

There are so many substitute part numbers for some Craftsman mower parts that picking the right one is sometimes iffy. This is the right idler pulley for my mower. Good price. Fast delivery

It does what it is supposed to do. With only 15 hours or so on it's hard to say what the durability is, but so far so good. (can it last like the OEM part of 14 years?, I'll probably never know).

This was an exact replacement for the Craftsman 42” mower deck. This item was an excellent value for the price.
