This is a well made and excellent functioning product. I don't use the little vacuum valve because I'm not sure what purpose it serves, but they seal up nicely and look like they'll last a while. I reserve 5 star ratings for extraordinary values, and i think this one is a good value.

I ordered these containers because my family does a lot of brown bag lunches for work and school, and I needed a container that wouldn't leak for the more liquidy leftovers (soup, anyone?). Plus, I got REALLY tired of cleaning up exploded applesauce, yogurt, etc out of my 6 year old son's school lunch box! And these do not disappoint!! The first thing I did when I opened the box was fill one full of water, seal it, and shake it (I may or may not have dropped it a few times as well, just for research sake, of course). Then I handed it to my 1 year old daughter and she knocked it around for a while. Not a drop of water leaked out! The smaller container holds 20 oz, which is pretty big for a school lunch helping of applesauce, but I really liked the other features of the containers.The vacuum seal feature is awesome. It's so easy. You really do just push on the lid to seal it, and there's a little orange indicator on the tab that sucks in to let you know when it has vacuum sealed properly. It makes the cutest little squeak noise when you vacuum seal it. And I love that there's no weird gadget or pump for my kids to lose. Just lift the tab to release the seal. The container stays airtight whether or not the vacuum seal is engaged (I checked). I just filled one full of lettuce, sealed it, and stuck it in the fridge to see how long it lasts with the vacuum seal.The other feature that sold me on these containers was the date indicator. I have three kids, six and under, and I'm 33 weeks pregnant with my fourth. Pregnancy brain is a real thing! My husband always asks me if such and such leftovers are still good to eat, and I honestly can't remember when I cooked them. Now I can just tell him to look at the date indicator. You just turn the little dial to the current day of the month and stick it in the fridge. Voila!Other perks: they're really good quality. I was worried about the price because a couple of other companies offered more containers for the same price, but when I got these, I understood. I think these little guys might last longer than I do, sort of like Great Grandma's heirloom Tupperware (you know your mom had some when you were a kid). Plus, you don't have to rebuy the pump when it inevitably gets lost because it's built in. I doubt these would even stain they're such good quality. Even the packaging they came in was excellent quality. That's a big deal for me. I hate wasting money on cheap stuff.I would definitely buy these again, and if they ever come out with more sizes (i.e. smaller sizes for little boys' lunches), I'll buy those as well. I love them!

Only the larger container works to expel the air as nothing happens with the smaller items. Still, they make good storage containers.

After too many clean ups to count, I bought these because I was so fed up with the cheaper options spilling all over my husband's lunch bag. Because they seal air tight, I have peace of mind knowing he will actually get to eat his lunch and I don't have to wash out his lunch box every single night when he gets home. And I wasn't expecting this, but I was actually pleasantly surprised at how long I can keep things fresh in the fridge, too. I can make jams and butters and they'll stay fresh until they're gone without having to use a canner or boil jars. It's so nice. I highly recommend this product. Totally worth the price.

These containers are great. The plastic is solid and the lid seals tightly with no leaking. The vacuum seal feature keeps my food fresh for longer. My food seemed to spoil quickly in other containers I have had in the past but I haven't had any problems in these. The different sizes are convenient for the different storage needs that I have. The smaller ones allow me to take food on the go, whereas the bigger ones allow me to store large amounts of leftover. Although they may be a slightly cheaper options these containers seem to be the best bang for your buck. I am very happy with this purchase.

I am giving these a five star because they are easy to use, clean, store, I have just now froze in them so I don't know how the will hold up but I am sure they will be fine...I gave a four star before because I was not sure if they were freezeable not not...I have been assured they are...I will update after I have opened the frozen container from the freezer...If that works well after several freeze times these will definetly be my favorite containers...and I will purchase more since the sizes are perfect for my needs...

Spend money elsewhere. Very difficult to use. Cannot get to "vacuum" with pressure from hands. I can't return because I didn't attempt to use right away it has been 37 days. The only true containers to create a real vacuum are those that require a pump.

I purchased a set of the vacuum containers with locking lids for myself, and found them to be very utilitarian because of the rectangular shape that saves space in the refrigeration, The containers have excellent construction with a locking lid that seals out air. The variable size of the containers is also very good to hold leftovers. I have continued to purchase the containers for family members, particularly college-bound grandchildren, who like the utility and convenience of the containers for heating up leftovers. And, we just ordered a second set for our household.
