Royal Gold Mendo Mix Soil Amendment, 1.5 Cubic Foot - for Strong Root Development and Aggressive Growth, Ideal for Outdoor Gardening in Hot and Dry Climates

I live in Southern CA, so I was hoping this very pricey soil would work great in my vegetable garden. I have three boxes and used different soil in each box (to see what works best). I used this bag in one of the boxes -- of the three, the Mendo Mix box has the slowest growing plants. I'll update if anything changes, but for me, this was an expensive failed experiment.UPDATE:We had a huge heat wave and extreme fluctuating weather in early fall here in Southern CA, and my box with the Mendo Mix is the only box that survived! I'm now replanting the other two boxes with this stuff. For my 2x4 box, I used one of these bags and filled the rest using coco coir and biochar. I planted buttercrunch lettuce and onions -- both are thriving despite some pretty extreme conditions.

Really good soil full of nutrients. I use this as a top for my super soil concentrate. Holds moisture really well.

This is some good potting mix to grow with It holds and drain water good. You can not over water your plants with this mix.

Opened the bag and was swarmed by fungus gnats. Very disappointed

I would choose basement mix unless you have very established plants already. This soil is pretty packed with nutients. I use advanced nutrients and I haven't had to feed them yet ~30 days from seed. This mendo mix holds water very good! Impressed!!! I buy it locally in alaska for $25/bag

Excelent fert. But need to mix with royal gold basement mix or perlite very strong for small plants would buy again
