The Human Element

Wonderful book, Brianna always delivers!

The musing of Wiest never seems to disappoint. Her view on finding happiness is so personal, yet so worldly that you can't help but wonder, "What is she smoking? Can I have some?"In all seriousness, her advice for loving yourself, and coming to terms with your experience in this life draw from Buddhist teachings, but is presented without reference to any religion and is, therefore, more accessible in my humble opinion. Wiest writes both concisely, yet packs so much raw emotion in each fleeting sentence. Each paragraph is a scrumptious meal, one that I turned over again and again in my mind, trying to parse every morsel of wisdom and love. I just finished the book and I can't wait to read it over again.

Brianna has once again and continues to teach me, help me understand even more about who we are, this book, after reading "101 esssays, that will change the way you think" is a lessson in itself. Profound and an incredible read, i am only half way through, but she makes so much sense to me personally, and i honestly think everyone should read these books, raise an awareness that some still don't have. I cannot wait to order my next book, i want to go for the poetry book, being a poet and writer myself. I say forever a student, and thank you to this amazing author.

I read this after having read “101 essays that will change the way you think” and thinking that nothing could be better than it. While this is written in a more existential tone, it provided me with the experience I was seeking. The author talks about the importance of keeping “bibles” (books that change you in a significant way) and this certainly did that for me.

Great book!

There are some good ideas, but I feel sad for her, because she thinks she finds something special but she is so far from the "truth"...as she saysbut in another way, I am glad she is happy with her thoughts and writing, and at the end, the most important is that people lives an happy life. :)
