Good book
It helped that this was not a long book. Each chapter was small and you could learn from it as you read

A surpringly brilliant self-help book from an unlikely source.
Many memoirs and autobiographies of great sports stars can also be wonderful books of self-improvement. But how many sports stars have written books that are explicitly about sharing the tools that made them successful? This is why 'Seeing The Sunrise' is a lovely surprise. Justin Langer has been one of the greatest batsmen during the last golden age of Australian cricket. His tenacious approach was the foundation of his success. Now, in this book, Langer goes in to detail about the mindset of a great champion. The book is divided in to 31 short chapters. And they begin with a quote from other inspiring figures such as Henry Ford, Gandhi, and Greg Chappel. And Langer has many insightful things to say on subjects such as self-talk, mental toughness, critics, and constant improvement. Most of these chapters are peppered with Langer's own experiences. On the chapter titled 'Mental Toughness', Langer goes in to detail about the influence of Steve Waugh, one of Australia's cricket gods. Not every elite tennis player, cricketer, or soccer star is going to write a self-improvement book such as 'Seeing The Sunrise.' Justin Langer puts the reader before his ego. It is about helping others through what he learned as an elite sportsman. Not all of us have to be a professional sports person to get a lot from this book. If you were under 18 with dreams of sporting glory, I urge you to make this book one of your bibles. If you were someone who loves the work of Anthony Robbins or Paul McKenna, then 'Seeing The Sunrise' will give you so much inspiration.

Small but beautifully formed
Agreed. Its a good read. But (a) its a little disappointing when it turns up - doesnt excatly take a long time to get through and (b) a lot of its contents have been cut and pasted from elsewhere (at least that's how it seems to me).Nevertheless when personalised through anecdote or test arena recall, it goes up a level. However, given the author, the promise and the other reviews - I was ultimately disappointed.Still we're not all the same - and I'm currently in the minority.Average.

A great motivational book
Seeing the Sunrise by Justin Langer is one of the most motivational books I have ever read. I love the quotes at the start of each chapter. Seeing the Sunrise is so inspirational that it makes you want to better yourself and to reach for your dreams. After reading how Justin Langer overcame the challenges in his life to become part of Australia's most successful opening partnership encourages you to reach for the sky and helps you to believe that anything is possible. One of the best books I have read and can't wait to read future books from this legend.
