Great knife holder, already bought a second one.
Magnet works evenly, all over the board. Like the wood instead of metal. The second we bought, the wood didn't look as nice and light as the first, but still good. Can be ordered in 2 different lengths.

Easy to install & strong. Don't understand bad reviews
Is as described.I'm not sure why there's negative reviews. If you use the mounting equipment they provide, you will have NO issues. It sliding & moving is because, it is 2 pieces. A bracket that you attach to the wall w/ the provided screws & the front magnetic wooden piece. The front piece slides onto the back piece that you mounted on the wall w/ the provided screws. Almost slides on like a rail. On the front piece, on the bottom side there are 2 holes. These 2 holes are to keep it from sliding or moving. You use the rest of the provided screws to screw the two pieces together.Strong magnet.Holds quite a few heavy duty knives. 3 of the pictured are hand crafted forged knives.Easy to install.Looks nice.Would recommend this product.

Pre drilled holes for easy install
I loved the pre-drilled holes for installation. The unit came with 3 screws and two holes. Three screws hold my knife holder fine. There is a base plate that screws to the wall for easy installation. The magnet holder slides over the beveled base plate. The magnets hold very well and the unit is solid when pulling a knife off the holder.I did use some cutting board oil on the surface of my knife holder. I tend to place damp knives on the holder and the mineral oil helps to protect the wood.Since I have thick tile walls, I used the pre-drilled holes as a template for a small drill bit to etch the tile. I then used a tile bit to cut a hole for the plastic anchor. I was very apprehensive about drilling a hole in my snazzy tile wall because there is no return when drilling tiles. It is a good thing the knife holder is a keeper.

There are probably better options available
If I would have had more time I would have just made one myself. Sliding dovetails, being what they are, best used in hardwood, rather than this stuff. Bottom line, the screws holding the dovetail in place split the edges of the dovetail. Sooo, if you'd rather not have to use CA and some accelerator to fix the dovetail, you might want to pick a harder wood material. Buying something simply because one runs out of time is not a good excuse, nor is buying inferior quality. Great concept but not good execution. The unit itself is attractive, I wouldn't want to make it a permanent fixture, so buy some good quality magnets to mount the sliding dovetail and then put it all together.Other than those few things, make your own choice. Next time, I'll just make one. Please find enclosed pictures of this knife magnet block. Does a pretty good job of holding blades in the vertical position. As you can see I mounted it on a refrigerator with some pretty significant magnets. By no means should you order cheap magnets. These came from Amazon, I put three of them on the dovetail piece and it holds against the refrigerator just fine. For the time and effort involved, basically none, this is a good cheap fix/alternative to a knife block. And most importantly, you don’t damage the refrigerator finish or have to punch holes in the wall for mounting.

Okay
It’s beautiful on the wall but unfortunately you can’t put to many knifes or it falls after awhile. I had it on my wall for about a month with probably 5-6 larger knifes and 2 small paring knifes it fell so now I need to figure out the adhesion part again
