You can change the combination by following these steps... 1) enter the current combination (default is 0-0-0). 2) when unlocked, turn the lock 1/4 turn 3) use paperclip and push in the hole on the side 4) WHILE HOLDING in the paperclip, change the combination to your choice. 5) when done, pull out the paperclip
