Halo Mythos: A Guide to the Story of Halo

Look, I’ve played so much Halo growing up, I can’t start cussing someone out without hearing the lobby music from Halo 3. But when the series came out and everyone wanted to know why the big deal was, this book helps do that. It tells a linear story of the universe from the beginning and up to the games. It’s written in a way that feels like a graphic novel. A must for any fan of the series.

I got this for my Halo loving boyfriend for Christmas last year and he absolutely loved it. He didn’t even know something like this existed & it meant a lot to him. The book itself is AMAZING quality, I’m not really a gamer but I would still put this on our coffee table from how nice it is.He says that the lore in the book is very interesting!

Being an avid Halo fan, I have been looking forward to this book's release ever since hearing about it several months ago. I recieved it in the mail today and have not been able to put it down for the past few hours!With over 200 pages, there are vibrant pieces of artwork (some of them brand new pieces not shown anywhere else) every couple of pages with lots of text in-between them. Unlike a lot of the other Halo encyclopedias/guides, this book appears to be a majority of text; that means you're going to get a lot of detail about what you're reading.The book appears to cover everything from 2001's "Halo: Combat Evolved" up to 2015's "Halo 5: Guardians" release, along with all novel, comic, and media coverage in between the games.The book is divided up into several sections: "The Foreunner Legacy", "Rise of Humanity", "End of the War", "The Aftermath", and "Return of the Prometheans". Each section has several chapters to them relating everything that happened in that particular part of the Halo universe. There is a nice size index at the back of the book incase you're looking for anything specific.Whether you're a Halo fanatic or are new to the series, this book is for one and all and appears to have become the quintessential companion book for all things related to Halo's story. It will not disappoint!

A good look at the HALO timeline in its full glory from the Human-Forerunner Ancient War all the way to the prologue of Halo Wars 2. The only reason I took off one star was because I felt it needed a bit more "meat" in it. This is more of a "summary" of the whole timeline when I was expecting a more in-depth look at some of these eras instead of quick mentions. The illustrations are extremely well done and that is on point. If you have read most of the books and keep up with alternate media then this is a good refresher and perhaps a quick "Get up to speed" guide for newcomers to the series. However, as an avid Halo Fan, I was expecting more detail and perhaps more insight into some of these stories.

I have been a Halo fan since day one. I have read some of the books and spent literally countless hours playing every Halo game. But the games leave a lot of story gaps. Sometimes you end up being part of a mission and while it is great fun, you have to ask your self, "what the heck just happened?" This book explains the Halo universe.I had so much fun reading it. When I now play with friends, I will drop Halo history over the mic and, while they think I am beyond a Gamer Nerd, they are always interested in the ideas that make the Halo universe complex and great. I really like it.

First off I wanna say that book is absolutly beautiful and covers a variety of subjects, up to and including the Insurrectionists, an element from the EU not presant in the games.That being said it's rather disappointing to see them leave out two HUGE aspects of Halo's mythology, the Flood and Reach.The Flood, a sentient parasite-zombie that takes up the last half of all the games, and wiped out the Forerunners (a species the book devotes several chapters too) is barely brought up or seen. While every species is given depth and models in the book alongside gorgeous watercolor selections, the Flood get one rough sketch in the beginning and then are completely left out.Reach was supposed to be the turning point of the Covenant war, the height of mankind's technological might, and had an entire game and novel devoted to it, reduced to 3 pages at max.Two of my favorite aspects of Halo I wanted to know more about, disregarded as footnotes. Really disappointing.

Leitura fácil. O livro vai contando toda a história anterior a Halo Infinite. É indicado apenas para quem deseja conhecer a lore de Halo, pois o livro não pontua quais eventos ocorrem em qual jogo, livro, HQ, série, etc.

Halo Mythos è un'enciclopedia dell'universo di Halo, che copre l'intero arco narrativo della saga videoludica, dagli albori fino ai fatti narrati in Halo 5.Se i giochi e i romanzi di Halo raccontano di eventi specifici, Mythos serve ad avere un quadro più generale, in modo da comprendere a pieno la storia dell'opera. Il libro è infatti strutturato in una raccolta di artwork, ognuno dei quali è accompagnato da una descrizione più o meno lunga che illustra gli avvenimenti rappresentati. Le illustrazioni sono talmente incredibili che verrebbe voglia di stamparle e usarle come quadri da appendere in casa.Si tratta di un pezzo che non può mancare nella collezione dei fan più accaniti!Spero che la lettura di questa mini-bibbia possa allietare almeno un po' l'attesa per Halo Infinite.

Diciamo subito una cosa: la lore di Halo è un casino. Questo libro ha il merito di racchiuderla tutta in maniera chiara dall'inizio dei tempi fino ad Halo 5 compreso. Consigliato per tutti i fan!

Um livro que cobre toda a história de Halo, começando pela era Forerunner e terminando ao final de Halo 5. Mostra algumas coisas inéditas até então, como a aparência dos Precursores. Cheio de artes inéditas e um excelente resumo para ficar a par com a lore de um dos maiores universos sci-fi que já conheci.

Non sono una fan dei videogiochi, ma da amante della fantascienza, mi ero approcciata ai film e non mi erano dispiaciuti. In attesa dell’uscita della serie televisiva con Pablo Schreiber, che uscirà nel 2022, desideravo informarmi meglio… ed il volume ha svolto ottimamente il suo compito.
