We purchased two gps speedo gauges from different dealers, neither worked....finally returned one for refund and sent one to Faria for warranty repair....once they corrected their own instructions for hooking up, it worked like a charm.....Why they don't publish the new connection procedures, I don't know. The final working hook up included a wire (yellow for us from yamaha) from the ignition to the signal post AND a jumper from the signal post to the battery post. The (red for us) constant power line was totally unused contrary to what the directions that come with the gauge indicate. So simple, hope this helps someone else....

It's not a direct replacement as Faria claims. It takes three power connection from three different places. The text description disagrees with the wiring diagram. The needle stepper motor buzzes whenever power is on. I put my vacuum speedometer back in.

I needed to upgrade to a reliable speedo. This was a simple drop in replacement for the original speedo. I originally had two speedo's. I replaced one. I also had to cap off the line from the back of the boat for the original speedometer.We us this for skiing. It's accurate out of the box and there is no lag. Looks good on the boat.

If you own a ski boat, this is you answer to the old pressure analogue speedometers.

Works well and since it's GPS based there is no in-water component to get clogged. Plus it's more accurate.

Works fantastic.The only issue I had with it was that it created a buzz through my speakers. I had to route my wires differently than initially thought because of this.This could probably be fixed with a ground loop isolator for my speaker system.

Very easy install. Works great. Picks up satellite signal in a few seconds with no external antenna. Used as a replacement for an old pitot tube speedo.
