Might be my new best friend!
After ordering several other styles of heating pads, none of which worked well, I reluctantly ordered this one after looking at the reviews. It arrived quick, nicely put in box, prongs covered. The soft velour material was wonderful, loved the color, and totally love the fact that the control is lit up, allowing you to see setting etc at night in dark room. Heated up quickly. Love that you have an option of auto shutoff after 2 hours, or can leave it on. I have numerous autoimmune conditions causing terrible muscle stiffness, and sometimes having low-set heat throughout the night is a comfort. I hope this holds up well, because I’m very happy with it at this point!!***UPDATED*** Six weeks later, this heating pad has quit working. When I turn it on, the heat only goes to 1. Upon trying to make it go any higher, or changing the two hour to constant, the heating pad shuts off all together. I’m completely disappointed as I loved this heating pad so much when I first bought it. Very upset.

Best one ever
I love this thing. And frankly so does my cats lol. Quick heat up and it does have an auto off but also has a keep on function which is my I have gotten this one again and again. I always loose them to friends lol. I have endometriosis and I lay on this during the bad flair ups. I don’t want it turning off after 2-3 hours during the night and waking up in pain so the stay on feature is perfect for my needs. As always safety first and don’t leave unattended with the stay on feature on.

Very Comfortable, works great
I lost one just like this I had owned for several years. I ordered another which lasted 3 or 4 years before a connection in the cord broke ( I might have pinched it in my recliner ) … cant blame the product for that. So I am on my third and hoping for another 4 years of nearly nightly use. The size is good for my neck and back. The heat output and control are great, and the pad is comfortable (not rigid plastic like some other brands ). Worth every penny.

Cord does not stay attached!
I've had this heating pad for 3 months, and I'm about to replace it. It still works just fine, but the cord that plugs into the heating pad is constantly falling out. Another reviewer(s) mentioned this, but I didn't realize how frequently this would happen and how annoying it would be. I tried using heavy duty tape, but this did nothing.Other cons: Mine didn't come with a sponge for moist heat. It does have a 2-hour shut-off feature, but the control device then blinks for an indefinite period of time. So, you still have to deactivate the power button. On the plus side: I liked the smaller size (hard to find!); the pad did not slide inside the casing; the express heating function is very nice.

6 reasons I hate this heating pad!
I have been wanting to write this review for a while, and I am finally fed up enough to do it.I remember growing up, we had this heating pad that must have been from the 70's. It had a pistachio green terry cloth cover, which must have made it quite the fashionable item back in the day. There were 4 buttons - Off, Low, Medium, and High. There was nothing "smart" about this item. You picked a setting, and it delivered more or less what it promised. If you wanted to lay on the heating pad and risk burning yourself, YOU COULD. It would not protect you.If you were born part fire elemental, you could take the terry cloth cover off, and the 4 settings became Off, Muy Caliente, Ghost Pepper, and Trinidad Scorpion. Again, it was up to you to use the pad responsibly. "With great pad comes great responsibility," - Albert Einstein. There was no auto-off feature, either. If you needed more heat over a large area, you could roll the pad up, tuck it into some combustibles, set it on high, and wait for the house to burn down. Of course, recklessly burning down houses is frowned upon in today's environmentally conscious mindset. But back then, it was totally okay to ruin the environment for future generations.Unfortunately, I got separated from this marvel of technology when I moved out of my parents basement 2 years ago. This is what brings me to the Sunbeam 002014-915-000 Xpressheat Heating Pad, Garnet Red, 12 x 15 inches.Pros:Smaller than the Pistachio Wonder, Garnet Red comes in a size that was attractive to me. I find I seldom need to apply heat to my body over an area the size of a sheet of A1 paper. +1 for Sunbeam.Auto-off. Despite my derision of Auto-off, I find it a critical safety feature for my coffee maker at a time of day when I probably shouldn't be operating motorized vehicles. +1 for Sunbeam.Hey it has good reviews, +1 for Sunbeam.Six (Six!) different levels of heat! +1 for Sunbeam. At this point, if I have a daughter, her middle name is going to be Sunbeam.Cons:I like pistachio green, -1 for Sunbeam.I can't remove the terry cloth cover in order to burn myself, -1 for Sunbeam. There is some sort of idiotic "smart" feature that decides to cycle the heat to protect me, the stupid user, from burning myself. This would be extremely considerate of them, if it didn't result in the thing rendering itself useless after 5 minutes of operation. -∞ for Sunbeam. The scenario that plays out for me goes something like this:I start out with tense muscles in my neck.I apply the heating pad.I begin to get relief. The heat stops.I get stressed out.I turn the pad off and back on again.I unplug the pad and plug it back in.I unplug the controller and plug it back in.My head is now craned 90 degrees, as my neck muscles are even more tense than when I started.I write this review. My hypothetical daughter is now middle-named Pistachio. If you are a casual heat padder, this might be for you.Veteran heat padders, I recommend looking elsewhere.

PLENTY HOT !
BEST HEATING PAD (out of at least 20) --- over the last 2 decades. I have used a heating pad for my back on and off for at least 20 years. I had the older type with a "plastic" out side - and a fabric cover. The plastic would get hot, and then become misshaped -- and it was a mess. I had to heat it up to straighten it out. the two new ones I bought have a fabric blended into the heating pad - and there is no "crumpling up". This pad has excellent comments in the 5 star group -- MY ONLY ADDITION involves the comments I found that said "not hot enough". I find level 3 to be "HOT", and beyond that "TOO HOT". I can take level 4 for 30 minutes, and then it's VERY HOT, and has to be lowered. I am careful to stay on the safe level because I fall asleep most nights with the pad under my back. REMEMBER, people who drink alcohol before bedtime are less likely to wake up from a "hot back". I saw many back burns in my patients over 25 years, and most had diabetic neuropathy or had consumed alcohol before bed. ALSO -- like everything in our lives in 2016, you may have to unplug and wait 30 seconds - for the controller to "RE-BOOT" -- just like the computers and kitchen appliances. I also bought the blue covered heating pad found on this site --- same comments for it. VERY hot at low setting.
