A must read for those who want to understand Bihar from inside. A dossier on the silent revolution, the rise of lower caste on the political scenario. The revolution was not so silent as the sociologists puts it, it cost lives of scores of lower caste people to gain their voice. Pappu Yadav, one of such warriors tells the real tell, the stories not told by the upper Brahmin, Bhumihar dominated media, Kayastha dominated judiciary and academia and Rajput dominated social spheres. This is invaluable document for Post-Mandal OBC generation to know that the freedom they enjoy today, didn't come for free. The lower caste uprising which produced so called Bahubalis, criminals etc were attack on the revolution from the educated upper castes. They were doing part in demonising the social change. On the other hand their criminals were busy maintaining the status quo by brutal physical dominance. However, that was challenged on the ground it changed forever. However, due to complete lack of intelectual voice from the lower caste, no one told their version.This autobiography feels that gap! It also shows a complete lack of lower caste intellectuals who can write their version. The same warriors have to tell the tell. The African proverb fits here, “Until the Lion Learns How to Write, Every Story will Glorify the Hunter”. This is the lion's version of the history from the Mandal-Kamandal battle-ground of Bihar.
