delicious variation of green tea
Long time green tea lover and I hadn't heard of genmaicha until recently so I searched and landed on this and boy was I happy. This item comes in the perfect quantity to try and I love the container for easy storage. The tea tastes wonderful and I love how the toasted rice pairs with the green tea. Will be drinking in rotation with my other varieties. As a bonus I love the color/way it looks when it's steeping it's just magical. Would purchase again.

A completely excellent Japan-sourced Genmaicha
This Harney & Sons genmaicha is excellent, and the price is highly competitive for these infuriating post-COVID inflationary times. Note that this is an EIGHT ounce tin -- that's a lot of genmaicha, even if you overstuff your tea bags like I do. There's plenty of toasted rice to give it that toasty aroma and flavor, and excellent quality green tea. I did, in fact, confirm with the company: this tea is sourced from lovely Japan (as of Dec. 2022). In an ideal world, my grocery store would carry this product; but until then, I'm putting it on Subscribe & Save.

Love this Brand!
Flavor and potency is great. Have purchased Tea of Inquiry Genmacha in the past, but I love Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Sunset, so decided to give this a try. It has a great flavor, just wish it came in sachets.

Nicely Nutty, but the Green Tea is a Bit Bitter
This was my first genmaicha. I really enjoy teas with a nutty flavor component--like some oolongs--as a nice change of pace from regular black tea.Pros:- A very nice toasted, nutty flavor. The nutty flavor is much more pronounced than in oolongs like The Tao of Tea Wuyi Oolong Tea .- A toasted, nutty fragrance as well. In my opinion, the toasted rice comes through a lot stronger on the nose than the green tea. That's a nice change from traditional green and black teas.- Holds up well to a couple steepings in a Teavana Perfect Tea Ball . The second steeping, of course, requires a bit more time to attain the same strength.- I think there's a proper ratio between the amount of toasted rice and green tea leaves.Cons:- The green tea itself is a bit bitter for my tastes.- For those who like a perfectly pure cup of tea, the toasted rice, of course, turns to mush after steeping for awhile, so a second steeping can leave some sediment in the cup. I happen to like it because it transfers that nutty flavor to the brew.I wouldn't be afraid to purchase this again, but I think I'm going to try another variety first to see if I can get one with green tea that's not as bitter.Edit: I purchased and started drinking Davidson's Tea Bulk, Genmaicha, 16-Ounce Bag . The quality and taste are just as good if not better (less bitter) than the Harney & Sons variety. At twice the quantity for the same price, I'll stick with the Davidson's product from here forward.

New favorite tea
I have enjoyed Genmaicha tea for quite some time, but since moving to another location, I have been unable to find any anywhere, even at the local Asian food markets that typically have it. So, I searched on Amazon for the one I used to have but didn't find it for a reasonable price. However, I found this brand that I had heard from other folks decent with their tea quality. This is some of the best Genmaicha loose-leaf tea I have had in a while compared to the other brands I have tried. The flavor is fantastic, and I love that it comes in a reusable tin container, also for ensuring the freshness of the tea. Overall I highly recommend purchasing it since the flavor and aroma are fantastic.

Great tea...
This is my main and most often used tea. My lady turns up her nose at anything else.

Exactly what i wanted.
When brewed at the right temperature at least, this really does taste like what I remember restaurant tea tasting like, and I really like that flavor.

Not bad but lots of dust
This is an okay genmaicha...the smell is a rich, heavenly roasted rice smell (which actually kind of backfires for my purposes because I wanted a dinner drink that could help satiate me, but this smells so savory that it makes me hungrier!). The leaves are dark and look like good quality, but there is a lot of dust even at the top of the canister. When I made a pot the whole bottom was layered in sediment, and my filter is pretty fine. It also was a bit weak when made with their recommendations (one level teaspoon per 8 ounces of water), but overall a good flavor. It's a decent tea and I think the price is good for the amount you get, but I'll be looking elsewhere when it's time to restock.
