I used this tape to secure a 10-foot runner to a high-traffic carpet area...
I used this tape to secure a 10-foot runner to a high-traffic carpet area. I used two strips at the ends and three down the length... and the middle of the runner crept an inch sideways over the course of a week. Grrrr! So I added two more runs of tape down the length (now five in total) and it has been pretty stable since then. If I have to I'll add two more strips! The tape grips the carpet much better than my runner, but that may be due to the material in my runner. I would recommend starting out with five runs of tape down the length of a 10-foot runner.

Great for keeping kittens off the table.
Okay, I have to admit that I did not buy this for rugs. I bought this because we adopted two new kittens and I wanted inexpensive double stick tape to discourage them from getting on the tables. It worked like a dream, and wasn't nearly as expensive as the double stick take marketed for pets. I also used to keep a cushion on a wooden rocking chair. It's worked great for that application also. I still have enough of it, that I might even eventually use it for carpet some time in the future.

Think of this as about like using duck tape
This tape is strong. I use it in woodworking for holding pieces together temporarily while routing matching parts and for placement of parts for securing on my lathe. Outstanding for those purposes. Caution however, this is not a thin tape. Think of this as about like using duck tape, but sticky on both sides. It is reinforced with a web of fibers - strong but adds thickness. It is thick enough to cause parts to rock if not fully supported and thick enough to transfer through thin parts when sanding. I still need a roll of thin, film-thickness double sided tape to fill all my uses. It is hard to find good thin double sided tape.

~Awesome for area rugs and woodworking~
I purchased this to hold small pieces of wood to my miter saw bed and fence. Allowed me to cut pieces too small to clamp. I had to replace it fairly frequently as I peeled off pieces of wood but got 5 or 6 cuts out of each piece.I also use it for securing area rugs to our wood floors. It is much stickier than the indoor/outdoor Duck Brand carpet tape I bought the same day to compare side by side. I purchased both items last year and returned here today to buy more of this brand - decided I really should leave a review after a year of use.My only issue so far was when I tried recently to pull up some knitted chenille "noodle" area rugs in our bathroom. The loose knit of those rugs was too firmly attached to the tape and was losing fibers as I tried removing it from the rugs. So I held a hair dryer to the area and that softened the adhesive just enough to allow the tape to cleanly separate from the rugs without damage.

EXCELLENT DOUBLE SIDED ADHESIVE CARPET TAPE
I have used a carpet adhesive that is yellow and web-like for many years with just minimal results to hold 2ft X 3ft area rug floor mats to carpet inside my front and back entrance doors. These are high traffic areas and the doors must travel over these mats constantly.I put the new double-sided carpet tape on the day after Receiving. It was very easy to strip the plastic strip off the tape. So far the tape is holding my floor mats PERFECTLY, even the corners!I am next going to apply this excellent holding tape to the underside of my driver side floor mat in my truck.

Two sided tape can be used to deter nosey cats
Well, we ordered this product for an unconventional usage. We have a cat that like to get on counters and when the old spray bottle isn't effective, one of the ideas for deterring a recalcitrant cat is to use two sided tape on place mats and leave them on the counters where the cat likes to jump and they get the message quick with the sticky tape. So we ordered the tape because its a large roll and we can put strips across the place mats and leave then for Mr. curious. It seems to work as she is avoiding the sticky place mats, so I guess you could say it was effective. Its difficult and generally expensive to buy two sided cellophane tape, so this wide carpet tape works well in this instance.

Double Sided Carpet Tape
It worked perfectly for a couple weeks and then pulled up from the hard wood floor and also separated from the rug. In the first two weeks I thought I had found a solution to my curled up hallway runner rug and avoided tripping and falling. It works for a while but not long enough. I do like it that it doesn't leave any residue but that was only for a couple weeks. I'm still glad I bought it and will use it again even if I have to put new tape down every couple of weeks. Thank you!

Give them your money.
This stuff is the only thing that has kept my runner rug from being tossed around like a dinghy in a storm by my dog. And my husband. Because...you know. Dogs. Husbands. I tried multiple types before and this has actually held for a couple months now. I can’t speak to the ease of removal as I plan to never remove it and was so annoyed at having to constantly readjust before that I seriously considered nailing the effing rug to the floor.
