Distributes heat well
Excellent fan! We're burning less wood, because the fan is moving the heat into the next room. The fan is completely silent, stable, and well made. And a great indicator as to when the woodstove needs another log - the fan slows down. I should have bought this 10 years ago!

Mostly a novelty - cool tech.
I resisted buying cheap a no-name, straight to landfill option, and it works as advertised. It just doesn't move much air.But it is a good talking point.I put the ducted heat pump air-con on fan mode and heat the house.

Expensive but a great gift
My girlfriend loves her wood-burning stove and loves this fan. I got it for her as a gift to increase the efficiency of the stove heating the room. It is very quiet and runs from the heat of the stove. Put it on the stove, and as it heats up, the fan starts pushing air away from the stove and into the room. Not cheap so doubt it pays for itself energy wise (a cheap electric fan off to the side of the stove would work too). But it is quieter and nicer looking than an electric fan and works very well. It also tips you off as the stove cools off and needs more wood, since you may notice the fan blades turning more slowly.
