Its worth the money to get the real OEM filter
I have two James vacuum cleaners. For some time, both have been creating a dust smell in the air, mainly from the wheat kitty litter my cats track all over. I thought the bags were no good but buying different bags didn't seem to help. I had changed the filter on my older vac, buying the cheap generic filters. But the dust was driving me crazy and the vacuum hoses were covered with dust and cat hairs after I vacuumed. I thought it was some kind of static problem. then I checked my records and found I had never changed the air filter on the newer vacuum since I bought it, over a year ago. So I decided to suck it up and get the authentic filters from vacuum & sewing center which guaranteed OEM part. First I thought they sent the wrong filter, because I couldn't close the lid tight enough to lock the latches. I had to turn the vacuum on its side to exert enough pressure against the lid and finally get it to latch. What a difference. This was the tight seal I had been missing. The OEM filter is worth the money. No more dust smell. It is like when I first bought these guys. No more dust on the hoses. Clean air like a real HEPA. I love my James again. I think I will do this twice a year. It is still way cheaper than my old allervac which years ago had a $250 filter. So glad I took a chance and bought these
