Cutting edge Cold War delta prototypes...
The delta wing was an important feature of early Cold War plane development. This Osprey X-Planes Series entry by Tony Buttler captures early British and American experimentation. That experimentation had its ups and downs, but did lead to flyable models with long service careers. The author walks the reader through the developmental process for each of several delta wing prototypes. The discussion is fascinating, and accessible for the reader without significant technical background. The text is nicely supported with period photographs and modern illustrations and diagrams. Of particular note is the Convair Sea Dart, a supersonic seaplane. Well recommended as a concise read for those interested in the subject.

All this series is excellent
This one is no different. Packed with information on a range of cutting edge deltas. My only gripe with these paticular books - they insist upon showing a centre fold image or artwork across the centre pages which is usually fantastic except, if you want to view it properly, you will probably damage the books spine.to my eyes, a rather silly and flawed format choice by the publisher
