Q: What kind of batteries does this take? I'm sighting in my xbow soon and i hear they die fast, just want back ups.

i know it takes a lithiun battey. If you already own it, take the battery to Radio Shack or your local electronics store and should be able to find them?

Twist it, it is not very well made, but it works. The laser is all you need for a quick site to target. I wouldn't buy it if you need it for more than that.

hey jerry, the spring is the negative and the flat disc is also the negative.

Q: how far does the laser work?

If you are outside make sure it is pretty dark out. IN the daylight you can't see it.
