This gorgeous halo ring showcases an oval blue green Montana sapphire center stone surrounded by small, sparkling white diamonds. Sapphire is a great alternative to a diamond center stone since it is nearly just as hard and durable as a diamond, and its natural colors offer a change from the typical white diamond center stones you see everywhere. The 5mm x 3mm oval sapphire is a light blue green teal color which is set off perfectly by the 14k yellow gold it is set within. Montana sapphires are mined in the state of Montana in the US. They are known for their brilliance and bright, varied color. This stone was ethically mined and purchased right from the stone cutter. It is held within the yellow gold halo by four sturdy prongs. Surrounding the center stone are 17 small, natural white diamonds. Each measures 1 mm and .005 carat. The diamonds are prong set into the yellow gold halo for a sparkling accent to the center stone. The halo is solid 14k yellow gold. The halo sits atop a handmade 14k yellow gold twig band. I collected the original dogwood twig myself, had it molded and cast, and then handformed it into this engagement band. The band is solid 14k yellow gold, and because of the lost wax method of casting, no trace of the original twig remains, but all of the gorgeous original texture is preserved forever. My design of the slightly raised halo above the band allows a wedding band to slide under the halo, flush with the engagement ring band. The twig band measures approximately 2mm in diameter. Diamonds: Center stone - 5mm x 3mm, .280 carat, natural Montana sapphire. Halo stones - (17) 1mm, .005 carat each, SI1, G-H. Total carat weight of diamonds - .085 carats.
