Nice cheap camera. Good to keep in toolbox for when a quick look is needed for running wires in the wall or finding something dropped behind a cabinet. Like that it is stiff so you can bend it into shape. No the picture isn't that great but can't expect much from a cheap camera. I use a professional grade camera when I really need a clear picture but this is great for quick looks to see obstructions or where the wires are when fishing. Also the small diameter of the camera is great for me rather than having to have a bigger hole or opening to get my pro camera in. Also another big advantage to this is no setup (after you download the app). Just plug camera into phone and you are ready, my pro camera have to get it out of the case, set it up and pray the batteries are still good. Conclusion... for occasional use this is great but for regular use go with a professional grade camera.

Possible loose connection between the micro usb connector, and the controls. Disconnected and re-connected on the computer and phone as the cable moved. After about 5 minutes of usage, it was no longer recognized by any devices. I used it with, and without the provided micro to full size usb adapter.-Pros+Great camera quality, expecially for the price+Light seemed more than bright enough, and the control was very easy to dial in+Comes with adapter to enable use with computer-Cons-Defective unit, failed after about 5 minutes.With the failure coming about after about 5 minutes of use, I can not recommend this device. However, If you try your luck and get a well built one, I can tell you that for the price, there is no better alternative.**Edit:**Within hours of posting this review, Fantronics contacted me directly and offered to replace the camera at no cost. They were extremely helpful and their customer service skills absolutely made up for the defective unit I initially received. Thanks again!

I've had this for at least a year now and have yet to get it to work. I scan for the app and it comes up with a bogus site. I type in where they tell me to go to get the app, comes up unavailable. I think this is a piece of garbage and I got taken big time! You definitely don't want to buy this endoscope.UPDATE FEB 2018... customer service got back to me within minutes of writing my first review. They gave me a different app to download. It worked great. Now I love this thing Great picture and easy to work with. I did take off one star because the directions in the box are not correct. The app that works with my Android phone was mscopes. You can download it from the Play Store. Finally after one year... I'm a happy customer!

UPDATE: (not sure why previous edits were lost) Vendor contacted me and offered replacement product, which they sent and does work as expected. Thanks Fantronics!There are practical limits to its usefulness (give short focal length and limits of 'gooseneck' rigidity) but none surprise or dismay me. Haven't immersed it yet but I'm confident it will work correctly underwater.jPrevious review (defective product that vendor replaced):LEDs illuminate, but phone+tablet+pcs cannot see any attached USB device. I have a Droid turbo 2 that supports otg. This product does not support ios which is fine for me. The app the user is directed to download is ineffective at properly communicating with the phone. The app freezes and even downloading version 2 doesn't help. I ended up using endoscope in the play store; it doesn't really have any ads and the image quality is actually really high. It also helps to know that I am using this to detect leaks with a uv light in my engine bay. The led lights are fairly powerful and any focus or image issues are app related not hardware related. There is a bit of lag trying to see anything real time but I don't mind for the price. The only REAL ISSUE is micro usb pins do not line up with my phone, I have to insert sideways and jiggle it a bit to work. However, pc connection with the dongle isn't bad it works fine. Would rate higher if the usb micro worked as intended out of the box and a bit higher if the app worked real time.

Camerafi app for this scope requires update to camerafi2 which doesn’t work. The help card that came with the endoscope says need help? Go to [email protected] which doesn’t help bc it doesn’t exist. Not to mention it’s an unsupported 3rd party app. I could be wrong about this. So if I’m wrong, please respond “fantronics”, in which case I would remit this review. Aside from technical difficulties, the endoscope is very nice and looks like it’s made well. I tried to make one myself and succeeded but you guys really made a cool scope and I received it on time and the contents of the package were exactly what I expected. Thank you Amazon and Fantronics. It’s now February 6, no response from fantronics. I would like to add that a instruction manual would be great as to the care of the camera/rigidity etc. Furthermore, it works on a different device just fine with camerafi. Thank you for a nice product. I’ll look online for a manual.
