Lord of the Darkwood (The Tale of Shikanoko Book 3)

This is probably the "slowest" book of the series in terms of action. However, the character development is fascinating, and the suspense nearly as great as in the other books.

Perfect read.

I loved getting this book but am finding I may go back and read the last one since months have elapsed since reading it.

Ok so I read the kindle version. The Tegu's Game of Go was not available on kindle so hard copy was purchased separately ( one after another being the plan). HOWEVER the Tegu's game ..was a bit too familiar? Thats because the kindle version had both stories calling them part one and 2 ! Please don't do this Amazon , dyslexia made me go over the both books several times to work out how I knew the story.....other than that, nice read, not quite as enthralling / descriptive as Otori stories.

These books are a leap in style away from the Otori series and in my opinion at least as good, if not better. This world is darker, with less samurai, more sorcerery, and an impressive variety of characters, each with their own unique magical (or alchemical) skills. But despite the variety it never feels like too much.If you're bored of orcs and goblins and looking for a truly imaginative fantasy, these books are for you.

After the original series I have been waiting for more. The only pity is that there are only two books in this series. Let's hope there will be a prequel or perhaps a sequel, Great inventiveness, tension and action.

I love this author. Every page is so exciting and as soon as I finish one book I am onto the next.I would marry this lady. If I wasn’t already married and she would have me.

Have loved this authors work since I read Across the Nightingale Floor, I loved this book, waited a long time to read it now just want her to write more!
