This is a good steak knife. It comes with a good fit, finish, and sharpness. At a price of $12.00/ knife, it was a great deal. Amazon has doubled the price. When you see a deal on Amazon, you had better jump on it, because the deal price won't last. This knife can be easily maintained by honing and the use, periodically, of a tungsten carbide honing device. It will last forever, if one knows how to maintain a knife age.

These are *excellent* steak knives and also make excellent utility knives in the kitchen. I find the heat treatment of Mercer's Genesis line to be excellent, and I love the grippy rubber handles. I have been using the chef's knife in the Genesis line extensively for years. Some negatives: The grinds are not always consistent and could have a bit of a recurve.

A Huge improvement over the serrated edge steak knives my wife's mother gave us 40 years ago. (;-)Pure pleasure to use.
