Non-slip design? NOT!
Phone is so lightweight that it almost always slips off the table whenever one lifts the handset. I removed the little black plastic foam feet and installed 4 little silicon bumpers, available at Lowes and Home Depot. This helps, but there is just not enough weight in the phone to keep it from moving after lifting the handset. This is for my MIL who is in assisted living, which requires the user to dial 9 to get an outside line. I've been searching and searching for a way to program a pause in the stored memories so the phone will dial 9, wait for a dial tone, and then dial my phone number. So far, no joy.

Don't waste your money
Don’t waste your money on this phone. Although it arrived very quickly, there was no packing slip and the “packaging materials” were almost non-existent. It easily could have damaged the phone in transit. Although mine arrived in one piece it has several flaws in design. The good parts: (A) The letters are easy to read although a person with severe macular degeneration might find the alpha-numerics difficult to read. They seem to blend in with the numbers and cause the user to see more “waves” then they should; (B) The phone does ring quite loudly so someone hard of hearing would have a better chance of hearing it; (C) The instructions for programing the speed dialer were quite clear and I had almost do trouble following them. The bad parts: (A) The construction is light and a bit flimsy but when put on a sofa it was ok; (B) The volume control on the hand set made little change in the loudness of incoming calls and the sound of the calls that did come in were very poor in quality in that there was a great deal of hissing; (C) The speaker was hissing and I (with my good ears) could barely make out what the person on the other line was saying. This also was the case with the person who was trying to make the call: (D) The visual “lights” in the front of the unit to indicate a call were so tiny that they were practically useless. I really wish that the seller would have a better product because they seem nice enough for tech support and the like.

Worked till it didn't.
I really liked the phone at first, it did what I wanted it for. However it stopped working today for an unknown reason. None of the buttons would operate the phone it lasted a little over a month. For the money, would suggest you buy elsewhere. 34$ is a lot to spend for a phone that doesn't last. :(

Just what we needed
My mother in law is visually impaired, and this phone makes it so much easier for him. It was just what she needed.

Not for the hearing impaired
Although this phone has big buttons which would help an elderly person maybe see the numbers better the sound quality is poor. Both the hands free and the receiver aren’t loud enough and have poor sound quality. For the money it is a decent phone but doesn’t do the job properly for my hard of hearing father. Like they say you get what you pay for.

She's happy
I got this for an elderly friend who is legally blind. The big buttons are easier for her to use. I programmed her most used numbers and she seems happy. The only thing I found wrong was it doesn't hang up right away. You have to hold the receiver down a few seconds before it hangs up.

Very disapointed that it did not work properly after a relativly short time.
