Expensive, not for everyone but an incredibly well built bridge.
This is a really well built product. I installed in place of a bridge I improperly drilled out but, due to the universal design of the Floyd Rose, I was able to use the existing holes with no modifications or plugging.Install is simple and there are plenty of videos out there to help you out if you get stuck. As for functionality-it takes some getting used to. This isn't a direct replacement for a normal Strat bridge so much as a halfway point between a standard bridge and Floyd Rose. You can still get those delicate Strat shimmers out of it but it's a completely different feel. There's much more resistance. You'll most likely have to do some basic setup as well. Out of the box I had to raise the saddles quite a bit to avoid dead notes and fret buzz but I had already read several review were people complained that they had to run their action high with the Rail Tail. That's not really a complaint on my part as I don't like my action super low but it's something to keep in mind.Really though, what stands out with this bridge is build quality. It's heavy, built like a tank, and looks amazing. Everything from the saddles to the trem block are immaculately machined.

Strong visually and good playability.
I’ve built 6 guitars now and am trying out different hardware on each build to test them. This bridge certainly isn’t the cheapest option available but you get what you pay for. It feels and looks solid. While it does not truly float and only dives forward, I found the additional stability helpful when bending. The rest of the notes are stable when you perform a steep bend on one string. It installed fairly easily and offers some play left & right to allow for proper placement. Visually it’s probably the more impressive tremolo out there.

A great upgrade
Awesome trem. Easy to install. Response and stability much improved from the stock Fender. Looks cool.

Where do I start with this thing.
As a decked hardtail, this is amazing; it's basically the musicman high-mass tremolo. As anything else you will be miserable. What they do not tell you in the installation is that the unit extends into the pickguard so you will need to trim that before you screw down the post. Then what they don't tell you on the packaging is that you have to take off the saddles for all adjustments. That takes a long time and a lot of tracking small parts you can't buy more of.What they don't tell you at all is that to set it up, you need to install the springs, put strings in without the saddles, and then jostle the bridge around with a card between the block and the body cavity before you lock the block down to the bridge. If you do it like the instructions say STRINGS WILL NOT GO THROUGH THE UNIT! I repeat, if you set this up following the instructions you will not be able to thread your strings through.Only reason I got this is because wilkinson is no longer selling its 6-screw vintage fender drop-ins. Took two whole days to install this thing, maybe 8 hours of work total, and I would not do it again.I can see why this was on clearance.PS. if you want to use this as a trem and not an overcomplicated hardtail like I did, you will need to slam the bridge back down to return to tune *every time* you move the tremolo. If you do not the bridge will get stuck halfway through a dive until you do. Admittedly, vintage fenders do this too, but I thought this was an upgrade.
