Pretty much perfect, but expensive.
I bought mine in 2017 and it's still rocking along with the same tip that it came with.Being able to control the temperature allows me to handle all kinds of jobs from fine circuit traces to desoldering large solder pads of big capacitors or transformers. I like that it has an automatic sleep mode so I don't accidentally burn my house down. This thing is a workhorse and I love it.One downside: It seems absurdly expensive. You can buy irons that have similar look and functionality for a fraction of the cost. I wanted a great iron that would last years and years, so cost wasn't really an object when I bought mine, but I think they now cost a third more than what I paid for mine in 2017. I don't have any experience with the competitor irons, however. I like this one, and if you can afford the cost, you won't be disappointed.

Throws an unspecified error after 30 seconds of use.
This iron worked great for the first few weeks. I've owned it for 6 months now, and now I can't finish soldering a single component because it shuts itself down and all the screen says is "Err."

Heats up quick, great thermal performance, small footprint
The i-CON Nano is one powerful machine that’s so compact I bet there is room for it on even the smallest work bench. But don’t let its small size fool you, this thing heats up quick and maintains its temperature! From the time it reached the temp I selected until the last joint was soldered, I didn’t have to stop at all and wait for it to heat back up. I’m so used to $20 throw away irons that I almost forgot how much of a difference using a high quality tool can make. As for the iron itself, I found it very easy to control thanks to its flexible cord and lightweight design. The included tip took solder like a champ and cleaned up like new when I was finished. In the future I’ll definitely be looking to add some additional tips to my arsenal as I work through more projects. The unit itself might be small but it seems very well built and packs a punch. I figure with some common sense maintenance this soldering station will last me many years. I’ve had the opportunity to use ersa equipment in the past but never knew where I could purchase it outside of Europe. Thanks Amazon!

Very easy to use, heats up quick
Piece of cake, great little station with plenty of power for general use. heats up fast - only complaint is lack of effective detection when coming out of sleep after you set it back in the cradle, almost always have to reach up and toggle the temp control up and down to kick it back on.

This Solder station ROCKS!
If there is anything I would change about this station it is that the cord needs a recessed area to help protect the cord from the weight of the station, or the front feet need to be taller. Also there are two holes in the soldering iron holder base for two more brass pins to hold two more soldering tips but they do not supply these which is on the cheap side! One odd thing or at least at first it seems odd is that the iron holder in made from black silicone. I wasn't sure I would like it but after using it, it turns out to be a very nice design. Also being silicone it doesn't slide on my ESD mat when placing the iron back in its holder. I went from using a Weller station to this and was using a Hakko soldering iron holder and I like this Ersa design better. This thing heats up in a matter a seconds. I really like that you can program this to heat up in 3 different ways. If you need it to heat up as fast as possible it will over shoot that temp by some tens of degrees, or you can have it heat up more slowly so it doesn't over shoot that temp but by 3 or 4 degrees or you can take the middle ground and set it to heat up faster but over shoot just a few degrees but not tens of degrees. The wand is pencil like (think MetCal or JBC) and very comfortable and light in weight. The wire is very flexible and seems of good quality. New Wands or heating elements seems to be of a fare price. The tips are very reasonable in cost and types. I would like to see a few more types of tips in the future but time will tell. One thing I really like about Ersa is that all the Icon line use the same tips. Meaning if you want to or need to upgrade to a bigger station with more power or desoldering capabilities etc you don't have to buy all new tips. Hakko and Weller etc make every station with different tips for a reason, so you can buy more tips from them. Also as far as I can tell the soldering wand is the same for all the I -Con line save the Pico. It is a different wand. So as You can tell, I like this thing. Also, If you are like me and don't want what all the cool kids are playing with and you like to tread a different path, try one of these. You will not be disappointed!
