Great book.
My 3.5 year old loves this book. I like it as it is helping to teach her gratitude.

One of my 1 yr old Granddaughter's Favorite books
It is a paper book. And the first page, and cover has been ripped a little. HOWEVER, that is because in the first few weeks we read it so much, she grabbed it, and ripped in with excitement. Not all books can be "board books" The fact is, this is a great beginners book, and gives her much joy. As a young grandma, I am happy to say, that even my books as a teen in the 80s have tears.. it's called love. If this book was ever ripped or lost, I would buy again. It would be worth the few extra dollars to replace for happiness.

Cute
My little girl is 2 and LOVES Daniel Tiger, so we immediately got all the books when they were released last month. She really likes this one a lot, and knows the episode that it is based on; so she will talk about what's happening in each picture while looking at it by herself. It's intended to be an early reading book for about 1st grade I guess, but it's still cute for a younger child too. We look forward to more Daniel Tiger books coming out later this year!

Thank You Day is here!
Finally, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood books are here! Parents and children alike are rejoicing openly in the streets!"Thank You Day" is created directly from Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood Season 1, Episode 28 "Neighborbood Thank You Day." "The neighborhood celebrates Thank You Day by putting notes in the Thank You Tree. However, a windstorm blows them away, but thanks to Mr. McFeeley, the Thank You Day party is saved, to which Daniel makes a Thank You Day card for him." (Wikipedia episode summary) It is very true to the episode. This pre-level one reader describes the purpose of the book to be "shared reading, familiar characters, and simple words." Since it is meant for children learning to read, the sentences are very short and mildly redundant. Not the most dynamic storybook to read aloud, but it gets the job done for early readers. The hardcover book is of good quality. It's 9x6". The pages are matte but filled with full-page illustraitons. Downrating one star for price. Not sure why this book is so expensive. I personally don't feel the extra $8 worth of quality over the $4 paperbacks.Still a good purchase (just wish I had gone for paperback). Our two year old's mind exploded with joy!

I just love Daniel Tiger
Our young daughters LOVE Daniel Tiger.. and I love the simple and foundational messages the show presents. This book follows along with the episode of the same title (everyone writes letters to someone they want to thank). We love to read the book and then put into practice what we learned... what a simple and fun way to teach kids to be grateful and to show others their appreciation!
