Pelican Sport - Standard Aluminum Kayak Paddle - Extra Tough & Lightweight 2 Lengths

I thought that it was adjustable to two different lengths, which is why I chose it. Upon receiving it, and seeing that it is not adjustable, I went back and read the description again. Now I realize that it is sold in two different lengths, not adjustable. Don't make the same mistake as I if that is what you think. Other than that, it looks just like the photos, is sturdy, and reasonably priced. With the rounded head, and no contour, it doesn't seem to bite as good. I have other square concaved paddles, and it seems that I have much better acceleration with those.

I am 6' 7" and I have an above-surface type kayak. This Pelican paddle is way too short. Also seems extremely light, and the things that are supposed to block water from running all over you don't work. I'm just glad my trial run was on a beautiful day where getting wet was okay. I would also recommend a paddle with grip, as this paddle has none. I was hoping I could return it, but to no avail. So I'm giving it a crappy review. Only kids and small people should consider anything less than a 96" paddle. I'm buying my next one in a store where I have the opportunity to measure it and hold it first. This was clearly a wrong move to buy this one. Crappy deal that I can't do anything about it.

Glad I bought a sturdy set like these, I have been fairly rough with them, use em to stabilize myself getting in and out of the kayak, push myself off the bank.I read one kayak review about notched paddles catching weeds, which these are not notched, but it may be something to consider.

For the price, this is absolutely a great paddle. The only thing I do not like about it is that the edges of the paddle blade are very bulbous, so it doesn't enter or leave the water smoothly. But it is perfect for paddling around on the lake

I was concerned about getting the right length. These are standard size no problem. You can take them apart for storage or transport. They snap together when needed. I think they will last us. We have casual recreational kayaks.

i do not suggest this paddle. i bought this and an airheads. the airheads feels like its half the weight and has a much better shape to it. for the money get that one. this is not very good.

It seems larger than other kayak paddle I'm used to. I feel it will be easier to steer the kayak with.

No problems. I think the couple extra inches in length helps manuevering. I paddle a little wide, and I think these are great.
