Way more comfortable than expected.
I am currently in between sizes. I used the reviews to decide between a small and a medium. Someone recommended the small for someone about the same size as me so I went with that.It is snug but it fits. Any smaller and I'd have looked stuffed into the dress. If I'd had gone up a size it wouldn't have been form fitting so thank you to whomever recommended that size!I'm 5'41/2" it came to just above my knees, which kept it classy enough I don't feel awkward wearing it.I'm currently at 130lbs. the upper part fit almost a little loose since the girls are on the small side. It kept things from swinging loose and falling out but didn't give a feeling of support either. I will need to add something so I don't feel awkward. But that's a preference thing not a necessity. The hips were snug. The zipping did require a bit of pull, but it didn't put any stress on the zipper to have it closed. It's a fun dress that with a wrap could be worn to any holiday party. Change the shoes and the hairdo and you are ready for a night on the town.I like that I felt I could wear it to a church event or a club with just a simple accessory change and feel equally comfortable.I have never purchased a dress like this before so I'm not sure what one would be looking for in the dress to help, but I adore the dress. It's long enough to be tasteful, yet snug enough to be flirty. The back straps landed perfectly when I just put it on like a t-shirt. When I tried to figure out the straps first I was quite twisted around. So I'd recommend just put it on like a T-shirt Arms first and you should have no problem. It did have a tendency to ride up as you walked but I would presume that is the case with any dress that is that form fitting. It's a nice shade of dark red. It was quite comfortable.I'm extremely pleased with the purchase.

I am writing a review to help anyone torn between a small and a medium because I spent a good half hour scouring reviews to see which I should get. I'm 5'7" about 155 lbs. My weight suggests that I should definitely be a medium, but my proportions sometimes mean a small might work better if an item has a good deal of stretch. I'm a 34C-28-41(my butt is rounder than my hips are wide, so my lower half doesn't look as exaggerated as it sounds) and I have relatively thin legs. I ordered a small and at first I thought this was a mistake. After about 5 minutes of sitting and moving around in the dress, the stretch kicked in and it settled nicely. However, I can imagine that it will ride up very much. If I anticipated doing a lot of walking and/or needing a more modest length, I'd have to send the small back and get a medium. The boob area is small, it fit like a bikini top (but I love a "slutty" neckline in my nighttime outfits, so this works for me). Any bump you have in the midsection will show very much unless you sorta ruch the front of the dress. If you get a small, you cant ruch it very much because this will make the hemline really short. Overall, the small works for me on this occasion, but I'd probably like the fit of the lower half better in a medium.

I see the body type used to sell this dress. I don't look like that. So after I purchased it I thought I made a mistake. I decided to wait until it came to try it on. I'm actually glad I did. I ordered the red in a large which is my normal size. I wasn't too worried about the length, size in the legs or waist. I'm concerned about the bust. That's where my problem always lies with clothing. A size 38DD/40D is difficult to clothe especially when you can't try it on first. I always run the risk of something being too small ONLY because the bust doesn't fit me properly. Sizing up is usually a no go because its only my size in the bust and the rest of the dress is extremely large. I was pleasingly surprised that this dress completely covers me and offers support even without a bra! This is uber exciting for me because I ALWAYS HAVE to wear a bra. There has never been an exception! Ev-er. And for it to be mostly backless that is amazing!I've always wanted a velvet dress. The material is very soft and doesn't irritate the skin. Its made very well and doesn't look cheap. Some skin tight dresses tend to look cheap. This doesn't. There is some stretch to it and the zipper offers some relief. I could have gotten a medium if I knew the bust would fit. You really can't wear under garments with this dress. If you're not comfortable with a g-string or spanx this really isn't the dress for you. You can see every line, ripple, extra bulge, etc and it can be unflattering. My only complaint is this weird extra piece of fabric in the dress around the bust. I saw it on other reviews and didn't understand what people were referring to. I just removed it. I would definitely recommend this dress.
