Great price. Great quality.
I needed a replacement contactor for my air conditioner which went out on the 2nd of July. Everybody was closed at the supply houses. The big box stores don't carry repair parts as they are in cahoots with the HVAC industry in some sort of non-compete arrangement so your average HVAC contractor can charge you out the wazoo for a $15 part. Between myself my wife and my daughter we were all searching for something we could get before Monday the 6th and my daughter ended up coming across this particular contactor which is an exact match for what I needed and could not find at any other store. I will say ace had a couple of types of contactors but they were not a match and I didn't want to get creative with my wiring. So I've seen four or five different brands and been able to hold them and feel the quality and see the quality, so to that level of experience I would say this is as good as any I've seen and better than a couple. It was nice to have the upgraded model that provides a cover over the top of the contactor side to protect it from getting fouled or failing due to bugs or webbing or something like that which I'm pretty sure is what blew my last contactor which was only just over a year old. In addition we were able to get it the next day and now my house after 2 and 1/2 days is finally out of the '90s and back in the 70s. In addition to that, and since it's the only thing that changed I noticed that my condenser is running smoother than it ever has before and that's a nice feature.

So far so good...
I never knew anything about this. I never knew a thing about central ac units. Till I was now staying in the brothers new house he just bought, they went on vacation so I was staying there dogsitting for him. So I knew his central ac controls both ac and heat. But then I figured out that his heat isn't actually produced by the AC unit, but rather by a gas furnace, and the AC only distributes the heat via the internal van n ducts. I thought oh ok that makes more sense cause it will be way cheaper. Then after being there the first couple of days, it's right around spring time here, so that it was cool, so I was only using the heat mode. But when I figured out the heat is made by the furnace. I was thinking hmmm why then is the outside unit running?? It shouldn't be. So I tried turning the thermostat to off. The internal van shut off, but the outside unit kept running still. So I knew we had a issue here. I looked it up online and came across many people saying they had this exact issue with the outside unit not shutting off, and it's usually this part that gets stuck. So I watched a few videos and when I got the idea of it I went out to the unit, pulled the breaker thing, screwed off the cover plate, and there was this part, indeed stuck, when I pushed it outwards with my screwdriver (power was cut) it popped right out, and then the unit was off when power returned. But if I turned on the AC to test, it again wouldn't shut off cause it got stuck. So I knew this was the issue. So..... To Amazon we go...... Found this, ordered it, got it the next day, installed it in 10 minutes. And works perfectly now, unit turns on and shuts off perfectly every time now.And I only told my brother about all this after it was all done and working perfectly. Cause I didn't want him to worry about it that I'll break it etc etc. So when it was done I showed him what I did and she him the old part that was broken. And he was so appreciative for what I did.A pro would charge him a few hundred to "diagnose" the issue, and a few hundred for the part, cause he has to special order it from Taiwan etc etc etc. And a few hundred more to install it. I did it all for under $20.Btw the unit is a Goodman brand AC. But I made sure the part is the same. And it was.

Came Sealed and works great! Success!
Very good. Product came sealed. This is the first repair like this I have ever done . I watched 10 you tube videos to get my education and to learn what to fix. My unit is from 1995 and looks great but was no longer working. I replaced the capacitor, cleaned the coils inside the furnace, cleaned my thermostat and replaced the contactor and then I had cold air. After I replaced my capacitor my unit iced up , so I cleaned the coils, but then the thermostat was blinking so I ordered this and installed it. I would suggest doing all 4 things to get your air working properly. I found 4 dirty air filters inside my return air duct from the previous owner at the bottom of the inside unit. Anyway this item was sealed and I got what I ordered and it worked. It was an education and a success. I am a woman and am trying to save some cash! So you can do this too.

Very impressed with the quality, great contactor
I am very impressed with the build quality and materials of this contactor. This can be a common failure in older AC units as it is a mechanical relay that wears over time. I chose this item because I could get it same day and I saw favorable reviews. And, it did not disappoint me.I am not suggesting a DIY repair unless you know what you are doing and are qualified..I noticed that my AC was running constantly and had frozen up. Even with the thermostat turned off, the unit continued to run so I assumed the contactor had gone bad. After turning the AC power disconnect off and upon inspection, I found the bad contactor shown in my photos that had stuck and partially melted the label and wires.I left power off to the unit so it could thaw while I waited for the new contactor be delivered. Once delivered, I swapped the contactors, cleaned up the wiring and the unit cycled as it should. The new contactor is shown in a separate photo.I recommend this item for the quality, but I suggest you have a professional install it unless you are qualified.

Contactor so you don't have to call a.... yeah.
I'm an idiot and was able to install this. Did it fix my AC? No, because it turns out the maniac who lived in this house before I bought it thought he was an electrician, and the problem was not contactor, but it appears to be the nightmare of wire splices to bypass the float switch in my basement.New contactor works great, though! No override switch/button like there was on my old one, but a week ago I didn't know what a contactor was, let alone have a button preference.
