Nite Ize Radiant 100 Mini Lantern

The light is lightweight very bright and very packable but it has a design flaw in the light mode settings, when you cycle through the light modes High Low Red it doesn't stay on the last setting you had it on when you turn it off and back on, so if you turn it on in the middle of the night you are getting hit with light from the highest setting and need to cycle it to low then to red which is a bit pointless as you've already lost your night vision with your eyes being exposed to the High Mode then Low before you reach the Red mode, maybe it wont bother you but personally if i knew it did this i would not have bought it, it's a small gripe but one you should be aware of, being able to tun it on straight to the Red mode would have been great but it just cant be done.

Good all-round light output. Fiddly hanging clip broke on first outing. Still hangs, but the metal clip is useless

It’s tiny! The dimensions listed on Amazon’s description say the product (not the package) is 6”, but it is only 3” in diameter and 2” tall.The light takes 3 aaa batteries that are not included. You unscrew the bottom to gain access to the batteries. The dome is a pliable silicone material that will protect the light if dropped. It also does a great job diffusing the light so there are no “hot spots”. The switch is a push button starts on high, then low, then ultra low with red light and then off. The hook on the bottom is cheap, but since the lamp is so tiny it’s sufficient. The hook stays folded and out of sight when not needed. Battery life is as stated.

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter for a girl scout camping trip we are doing. Light appears to be pretty bright for our needs and the 3 rechargable eneloop batteries I am using should easily last all weekend if used on a mix of high and low. On high it is supposed to be about 8 hours so could probably do that all weekend, but low should be sufficient light for walking thru woods, reading books, etc.Pros:- Inexpensive- Decent amount of light for 3 AAA batteries- 3 light modes with low and red providing really long run times of 20+ hours, high is 8 hours (not confirmed, only going off specs)- Small- LightweightCons:- Button is a little awkward to use- The Carabiner clip broke on the first try. This is not a traditional carabiner clip that you can just clip on. It appears you need to do it very gently and "unclip" it first, wrap it around what you want, then lip it back in. So this could be user error but the metal clip went flying in my garage when I clipped this onto a cabinet door handle. Now that I am looking at the pictures it appears this needs to be gently unclipped then clipped.Will see how this holds up and for the size and cost might buy a few more and be more careful with the clip.
